  6. Via WWD: It was just a quiet night in the library with Rihanna. For her third Fenty Puma collection, RiRi paraded her fall collection at Paris’ Bibliothèque Nationale de France, where the stacks probably hadn’t seen this much excitement since the Dewey Decimal System was installed. There was very little reading being done. The long tables at which the audience sat, a classic green library lamp for just about every place, became the runway, as the models strutted by in riffs on private school plaids, letterman sweaters and jackets, basketball shorts, track suits, boxers and jerseys. There were wayward Catholic school girls, sexy jocks, punks and Goths — all done up with a major dose of Rihanna’s DGAF attitude. See the FENTY x PUMA collection After the show, she said going back to school thematically was a way to relive her school days and do all the things she wasn’t allowed to when she was a kid. “In Barbados, we don’t get to dress up in school,” said Rihanna. “It’s strictly school uniforms. Every time I would come to America, I would see kids getting into dressing up…this was my way of expressing myself in that avenue, having fun, creating looks that blended with the different cliques and marrying that world with sport.” The collection was fun, impressively staged and full of good energy, which is no easy feat at 9 p.m. on the second-to-last day of the four-week fashion week haul. Watch the fashion show A skateboard-toting female model in a long plaid robe of a puffer jacket, boxer shorts and no shirt set the tone for Rihanna’s bad gal school dress code. There was a cropped Puma pantha logo sweater worn with mixed navy and green plaid track pants and a big stuffed teddy bear backpack. An exaggerated sweater dress came in navy and yellow varsity stripes emblazoned with the year 1988. A corseted cropped T-shirt was worn with baggy basketball shorts and over-the-knee, lace-up boots based on classic Puma sneakers. The palette was based on traditional school colors — and then black and tan for the Goth kids who closed the show in aggressively oversized hooded faux-fur coats and sweats. Find more on Twitter and Instagram: @rihannadaily The look was quite different from Rihanna’s previous two collections — the first Japanese-Goth inspired, the second girly, sweet Marie Antionette-sport — but the mood was the same. Rihanna is reportedly working with different designers each season, but the end result reflects her very distinct, personal point of view. The lineup was full of a lot of clothes for real kids to realistically wear — puffers, windbreakers, hoodies and track pants, that were much cooler than Rihanna’s own school uniform. “It was like a khaki dress that zips up in the front and a blue and yellow belt with black shoes,” she recalled. “That sounds like fun, right?” Watch Rihanna backstage at the show

  8. It’s not just her music that Rihanna is receiving accolades for. The “Love on the Brain” singer headed to the hallowed halls of Harvard University on Tuesday, where she received the prestigious honor of 2017 Humanitarian of the Year by the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. Dr. S. Allen Counter, director of the Harvard Foundation, introduced Rihanna, saying, “Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados… It is for these philanthropic initiatives, and other acts of compassionate sharing, that the students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation chose to honor Rihanna with the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year Award.” “So I made it to Harvard!” the singer said as she took to the stage, where she spoke about the childhood that inspired her charitable work as an adult. “I’m incredibly humbled to be acknowledged at this magnitude for something, in truth, I never wanted credit for,” Rihanna told the crowd. “I remember watching TV (as a child) and I would see commercials with children suffering in other parts of the world, the ones where you could give 25 cents and save a child’s life. I said, ‘When I grow up and get rich I’m gonna help kids all over the world.’ I just didn’t know I would be in the position to do that by the time I was a teenager.” Looking chic in a gray, off-the-shoulder tweed dress and over-the-knee gray boots with her hair swept back, Rihanna challenged the crowd of students and fans to make a difference in their own lives. “We’re all human, and we all just want a chance,” Rihanna said. “A chance at life, a chance at an education, a chance at a future, really. And at CLF [the Clara Lionel Foundation], our mission is to impact as many lives as possible, but it starts with just one. Just one. As I stare out into his beautiful room, I see optimism, I see hope, I see the future. I know that each and every one of you has the opportunity to help someone else. All you need to do is help one person and expect nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian.” Rihanna started CLF in 2012 in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The organization funds education, health, and emergency response programs, and seeks to improve the life of young people around the world. And while she didn’t attend college herself, Rihanna hinted that there’s always the possibility she’ll pursue further education. “The truth the little girl watching those commercials didn’t know, was that you don’t have to be rich to be a humanitarian. You don’t have to be famous, or college-educated,” Rihanna laughed. “I wish I was, especially today. I might come back!” Before the big event, Rihanna went on a tour of the university and had lunch at Henrietta’s Table in the Charles Hotel. And according to the University staff, the Barbadian singer blended in with the students quite well. “I can’t tell you what a gracious person she’s been to our students all day,” said Dr. S. Allen Counter, executive director the Harvard Foundation. Rihanna’s Full Speech at Harvard (Text) Via PEOPLE and Just Jared
  9. Rihanna rises 8-7 on the Hot 100 with "Love on the Brain." A week ago, the song became her 30th top 10, a milestone that only Madonna (the leader with 38 top 10s) and The Beatles (34) had previously achieved. Airplay leads the way for the track, which advances 5-3 on Radio Songs (108 million, up 7 percent).
  10. Dior is pleased to announce its charity partnership with The Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by singer and songwriter Rihanna. The foundation is dedicated to supporting and funding groundbreaking and effective education, health, and emergency response programs around the world. Recently named The 2017 Humanitarian of the Year by the Harvard Foundation, Rihanna's charitable impact and philanthropic pursuits benefitting women and children have encompassed a vast global scope. In support of Rihanna's efforts as a philanthropist, Dior will donate a percentage of proceeds from each sale of the "We Should All Be Feminists" t-shirts to The Clara Lionel Foundation. The runway t-shirts will be available in all of Dior's retail boutiques worldwide and Dior.com until May 15, 2017. Additionally, for a limited time only, the "We Should All Be Feminists" t-shirts (including an exclusive version in black) will be available on Saks.com from March 14 till March 28.
  11. Rihanna rumbles 13-8 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated March 4) with "Love on the Brain," marking her milestone 30th top 10. Dating to the chart's Aug. 4, 1958, inception, only Madonna, with 38, and The Beatles, with 34, boast more. Rihanna breaks a tie for third place with Michael Jackson, who's tallied 29 top 10s, as a soloist. Notably, Rihanna sports the second-fastest accumulation of 30 Hot 100 top 10s (from an act's first-ever week in the region to the first week in the tier with its 30th). Having first hit the top 10 with "Pon De Replay" on the July 16, 2005-dated chart, she needed 10 years, seven months and two weeks to tally 30 top 10s. Only The Beatles hit the landmark more quickly, from "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to "Something," over a span of just five years, nine months and two weeks (Jan. 25, 1964-Nov. 8, 1969). While she's the leader for the most Hot 100 top 10s, Madonna took 12 years, eight months and two weeks from her first top 10, "Borderline," to her 30th, "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" (June 16, 1984-March 1, 1997; thus, with the latest Hot 100 dated March 4, 2017, we last celebrated an act reaching 30 top 10 hits 20 years ago to the week). Here's a recap of Rihanna's 30 Hot 100 top 10s (with 25 in a lead role).

  16. Via EW: No, those exclusive first look images below of Rihanna driving in the rain and stuffing a case full of cash are not from an upcoming music video. Before the Grammy-winning artist joins Sandra Bullock’s merry band of thieves in next summer’s Ocean’s 8, Rihanna will bring one of the Bates Motel’s most famous guests to life on the small screen. After reading a November 2015 Vanity Fair interview in which the singer lauded Bates Motel, the show’s producers took a stab in the dark and asked the pop star to cameo as Marion Crane, the Psycho character portrayed by Janet Leigh in the 1960 movie. But as the role played into a larger arc for the show’s final season, they grew less confident that she’d sign on. To their absolute surprise, RiRi did. Fans certainly have expectations for the real main event, Psycho‘s infamous shower scene, which stands as one of cinema’s most shocking deaths. Psycho’s supposed heroine — who steals her boss’ money for her boyfriend, goes on the run, and lands at the Bates Motel along the way — was surprisingly murdered at the end of the film’s first act. Will Rihanna’s version of the character meet the same fate? However, Ehrin does note that the show plans to take a more contemporary route with Marion than the original did. “Let me just preface by saying it’s one of my favorite films,” Ehrin says. “But Marion is a woman written in the ’50s by a guy. It was very much our goal to show you what’s going on in her head to give her more complexity.” To do so, Ehrin hints that Bates’ swan-song season will depict events that were otherwise off-screen in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie. “Two different versions of the same story collide in a really explosive way,” she says. Let’s just hope Rihanna packed her shower shoes! Bates Motel returns Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 p.m. ET on A&E. For more inside info on Rihanna’s trip to Bates Motel, pick up the next issue of Entertainment Weekly, on stands Friday.
  17. Rihanna visits Malawi

Photos of the Rihanna in Malawi have surfaced online, and PEOPLE has learned she is visiting the African country to spend time with key educators, government officials, students and mentors to promote education on behalf of her Clara Lionel Foundation and as the ambassador for Global Citizen and the Global Partnership for Education. The singer, 28, was spotted with Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans as well as Julia Gillard, GPE’s board of directors chair during a meeting in a Malawian village.
  18. Rihanna will show her third Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection in Paris for fall 2017. She will return to the City of Light on March 6 after last season’s well-received show at the swanky, 19th-century mansion the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Her first collection for fall 2016 was shown in New York at 23 Wall Street. The date and venue for the fall 2017 show have not been disclosed, but supposedly it will involve an after party. According to industry sources, Rihanna has been working with a different designer each season, though they’re not public collaborations. For example, Adam Selman, who worked with her on her River Island Collection in 2013 and has done much custom work for her, was backstage at her spring 2017 show. Its girly/sporty/street look was very much in line with his aesthetic. It couldn’t be learned who she’s been consulting with for the next collection. Via WWD
  19. Rihanna’s multi-format hit single “Love On The Brain” continues to climb the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100. Up three places, it reaches a new peak of #14 on this week’s chart. Purchase "Love On The Brain" on iTunes “Love On The Brain” concurrently rises to new peaks on the Radio Songs (#8), Digital Song Sales (#11) and Streaming Songs (#24) subcharts. Via Headline Planet
  20. Bates Motel: First look at Rihanna

Bates Motel is putting Rihanna to work, work, work, work, work — and EW has the exclusive first look. During the A&E drama’s fifth and final season, the eight-time Grammy Award-winning singer will check into Bates Motel as Marion Crane, the character first made famous by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock‘s 1960 thriller Psycho. In one of the most stunning twists in cinematic history, Marion — who had stolen her boss’s money for her divorcé boyfriend and landed at Bates Motel while on the lam — was killed in the film’s first act. But viewers will meet a very different, fleshed-out version of Marion when she arrives on Norman Bates’ (Freddie Highmore) doorstep. “We’re taking threads of that story and definitely using them so it’s recognizable, it’s just where we go with it is very different,” executive producer Kerry Ehrin tells EW. “It’s tough to be in a situation where you’re in love with a guy, and for whatever reason, he keeps stalling. You still have all this hot sex with him, and he’s saying he loves you, but he’s stalling. The internal story of that, for a woman, is a really interesting one. We never really got to see that. In Psycho, you just see the outside of that more. It was trying to do a story about a contemporary woman with some edge, with some expectations, who isn’t perfect, who isn’t always perfectly sweet, who is in that situation, but we’re rooting for her to get what she wants.” What Marion probably doesn’t want is a newbie serial killer taking a shine to her, but that’s exactly what she’ll get during the character’s multi-episode appearance. “Norman is in an incredibly intense and interesting place that we’ve built him to when that sequence of episodes starts,” Ehrin says, noting that the new season picks up about 18 months after Norma’s (Vera Farmiga) death. “It’s this collision of Bates Motel storytelling and then Marion Crane showing up into that. He’s in a very fragile and lonely place, and Marion Crane is a charismatic woman, she’s super present when she’s with him and she’s very attractive — all those things are exactly what he needs right at this moment.” Note to Riri: Don’t take a shower!
  21. Tuesday (January 24) was a busy day for Rihanna, Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson. The actresses were photographed together filming a scene for their upcoming film "Ocean's 8" in New York City. RiRi seemed to be in charge of the crime group as we can watch in the video below. Click here for photos. Rihanna started filming "Ocean's 8" in early November and has since been photographed with co-stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter. Find photos here. The film is a a spin-off of the Ocean's Trilogy and will be released on June 8, 2018.
  22. Rihanna extends her record for the most top 10s on Billboard's Radio Songs airplay chart, as "Love on the Brain" lifts 11-10 on the list (dated Feb. 4). The retro R&B track is her 28th top 10, widening her lead over runner-up Mariah Carey, who has earned 23 top 10s since Radio Songs launched in December 1990. "Love" sports 78 million in all-format radio audience, up 8 percent, in the week ending Jan. 22, according to Nielsen Music. It's the third Radio Songs top 10 from Rihanna's album Anti, following the No. 2-peaking "Work" (featuring Drake) and the No. 8 "Needed Me." On the Billboard Hot 100 (which blends airplay, sales and streaming data), "Love" hits a new high, climbing 19-17. Here is an updated look at the acts with the most top 10s in the Radio Songs chart's 26-year history: 28, Rihanna 23, Mariah Carey 19, Lil Wayne 17, Drake 17, Jay Z 17, Ludacris 17, T-Pain 17, Usher 16, P!nk Rihanna also boasts the most No. 1s on Radio Songs, 12. She last led as featured on Eminem's "The Monster," for six weeks in 2013-14. Carey ranks second with 11 leaders on the ranking, followed by Katy Perry and Usher (seven each).
