  1. Via Billboard: DJ Khaled has another fine reason to be grateful: Rihanna. The Miami artist and producer, who went to No. 1 around the globe with "I’m the One," has secured RiRi’s services for his upcoming 10 full-length album release, Grateful. Khaled couldn’t resist sharing news of his jackpot. “They said Khaled can’t get @badgalriri’s vocals… @badgalriri’s vocals is in,” he boasted on an Instagram post. It's confirmation of what we already knew. Khaled told listeners of Los Angeles's Power 106 last month he’d get Rihanna onboard with his star-studded project. “They saying you can't get Rihanna?" asked The Cruz Show’s host. "Be ready!" shouted Khaled. He wasn’t kidding. Khaled has been bragging about his starry Grateful guest lineup for some months now. He’s got a point. The likes of Drake, Nicki Minaj, Future and Nas are expected to appear, and you can bank on credits from Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne (they appear on "I’m the One"). The release date for Grateful will come soon. "Real soon," Khaled says.
  2. Rihanna may be an 8-time Grammy winner, CFDA Style Icon, designer, actress and all-around badass but it's the singer's philanthropic efforts that are getting some well-deserved recognition lately. Just over two months since being awarded Harvard's Humanitarian of the Year Award, Rihanna was honored at last night's Parsons School of Design Benefit for her philanthropic work and fashion influence. While addressing the audience, the singer talked about the importance of investing in millennials instead of tearing them down: Later on in the evening, Rihanna and Donna Karan announced the winners of a new initiative in partnership with Parsons, the Design Fellowship program. The project is a merchandise line for Rihanna's non-profit organization, Clara Lionel Foundation, which supports education, health and emergency response programs around the world. Through the partnership, Rihanna and Donna Karan's Urban Zen Foundation are sending three Parsons students to Haiti this summer to work with local designers on the fashion line. Watch clips of Rihanna's speech below: Via Harper's BAZAAR
  3. Via NYPost: Rihanna’s got shoes on the brain. In June, the singer will launch her third and final collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, the designer exclusively tells Threads. The So Stoned sandal capsule they created in between dance breaks — priced from $1,265 to $2,325 and debuting in June — features Swarovski crystals and Perspex clear heels. While Rihanna looks stunning in her Manolos, Blahnik doesn’t mind when she kicks them off: “She looks better with no shoes, actually. She looks beautiful. No makeup, nothing. I’m absolutely mesmerized by her face and her eyes.” It seems they found shoe love.
  4. This Thursday (May 11), Rihanna attended the Christian Dior Cruise 2018 Runway Show 2017 in Santa Monica, California. She posed for photos with Christian Dior Couture president and CEO Sidney Toledano. Read more about the event and click here for photos.
  5. Via Footwear News: Last month, Rihanna and Puma held a special pop-up shop at Milk Studios in Los Angeles for the latest Fenty x Puma collection. That’s when the Fenty x Puma Bow Creeper Sandal made its debut, and at that point, the pop-up was the only place you could purchase the summery version of the sell-out Creeper sneaker. The sneakers feature the same gum sole as the Creeper sneaker, but instead feature a bow on top and laces that can be tied around the ankle. Luckily for those that weren’t in the L.A. area, the Bow Creeper Sandal will be available on Puma.com at 10 a.m. ET today. In addition, Puma dropped several other items from Rihanna’s spring collection on Puma.com on Wednesday, including apparel and other footwear styles. For those who still want to add the original Creeper style to their closets, Puma is currently stocking it in all-black patent and white and black leather. Head to Puma.com at 10 a.m. to buy the Bow Creeper Sandal.
  6. On Thursday (May 4), Rihanna was photographed heading to the set of Ocean's 8 to film additional scenes. Click here for photos. 7. Via WWD: Rihanna’s impact on the fashion world is indisputable. Now the singer has revealed that she will further strengthen her ties to the industry by collaborating with The New School’s Parsons School of Design, Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation and Haitian artists to develop a line of merchandise. Sales of the product will help support the Grammy winner’s Clara Lionel Foundation, which was founded in 2012 to benefit impoverished communities worldwide in areas like health care and education. Select students of the art and design school will have the opportunity this summer to work with local Haitian artists at the Design, Organization, Training Center in Port-au-Prince. Karan, Parsons and designer Paula Coles founded the center as a creative meeting place offering vocational training and materials to the Haitian artist community. “We are ecstatic that our students will have the opportunity to work with and develop a merchandise line for Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, that, like Parsons, shares a strong commitment to creating positive social change,” explained Alison Mears, director of the Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons who was instrumental in launching D.O.T. On May 22, Rihanna will be honored at the Parsons Benefit in New York City and will reveal the winners of the Design Fellowship program, which sends three Parsons students to Haiti for six to eight weeks beginning in early June.
  8. Rihanna attends the MET Gala 2017

Via Vogue: Tonight, when Rihanna hit the 2017 Met Gala red carpet, it was a full-on fashion fantasy. Arriving to celebrate the Costume Institute exhibition “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between”, the singer wore a Comme des Garçons look, straight off the Fall 2016 runway, that was an architectural wonder. Ancipation was high for Rihanna’s look, particularly given the night’s avant-garde dress code, and she did not disappoint. Originally modeled by Anna Cleveland in Paris, the sculptural piece was inspired by 18th-century “punks” and consisted of floral fabrics, layered and pulled apart like petals. Rihanna has a long history of shutting down the Met Gala red carpet. In 2015, she turned up in a stunning canary yellow cape and gilded headdress to celebrate “China: Through the Looking Glass.” Trimmed with fur and painstakingly embroidered by hand, the couture piece by Chinese designer Guo Pei took two years to create and was a pitch-perfect tribute to the night’s theme. Last year, her presence was sorely missed. Safe to say she’s more than made up for it tonight.
  9. Kendrick Lamar's brand new album DAMN just came out and it includes a collaboration with RiRi: "Loyalty". Listen now on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal. To support, Rihanna even published a photo of the album's cover on Instagram:

  13. Rihanna is teaming up with Chopard

Via WWD: Rihanna is set to bring her edgy Midas touch to Chopard, with a high jewelry collection co-designed with Chopard co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele to launch at the Cannes Film Festival in May, WWD can reveal. Dubbed Rihanna Loves Chopard, the collection consists of one-of-a-kind creations inspired by the singer’s island roots mixing nods to the lush gardens of Barbados and the electricity of Carnival, as well as spins on house icons. A nine-piece fine jewelry capsule also co-designed by the singer, and limited to 2,000 editions per design, will enter Chopard boutiques internationally in June. Offering a more minimalist, graphic direction, the line will be available for pre-order in Chopard boutiques and on the brand’s web site from today. An advertising campaign showing the “Diamonds” star in creations from the fine jewelry line, offset by skin and tattoos, will launch in a range of luxury U.S. titles this month before rolling out internationally. Crafted from ethical 18-carat Fairmined-certified rose gold, the line reinterprets Chopard’s signature Ice Cube shape, and features ceramic — a first for Chopard — in a shade of jungle green personally picked by the star. The gold cubes are available in frosty polished or diamond-set versions. “Rihanna and I collaborated closely on the collections, so you can feel her unstoppable energy, strong creativity, and inherent sense of design in every piece,” Scheufele said in a statement. “With her unique style, she redefines the way people see and wear jewelry.” Rihanna, who regularly sports creations by the Swiss jeweler for red carpet events, already sneakily debuted three creations from the high jewelry line. At the recent Grammy Awards, the singer sported a one-of-a-kind pair of floral-inspired multicolored chandelier earrings and a marquise-cut diamond solitaire ring, while on the March cover of Harper’s Bazaar, she wore a pair of transformable diamond earrings. The Barbadian star is expected to hit the festival, which will be marking its 70th edition, in the first week — and possibly even for the opening ceremony on May 17, with Luc Besson’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” in which she co-stars alongside Cara Delevingne, rumored to be a contender for the opening-night film. The event will also mark Chopard’s 20th year as official partner of the festival. The Geneva-based jeweler and watchmaker has turned celebrity collaborations into an annual tradition. Julianne Moore last year sported the house’s first pieces featuring responsibly sourced emeralds, designed using input from the actress. Marking the first time a piece featuring colored precious stones were included in the Green Carpet Collection, the capsule was part of Chopard’s ongoing Journey to Sustainable Luxury initiative, launched in 2013 in partnership with Eco-Age, the consultancy headed by Livia Firth, wife of the British actor Colin Firth. Marion Cotillard was the first actress to wear items from the Green Carpet Collection on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013. In 2015, she worked with Chopard on designing the first jewels using ethically sourced colored gemstones. Rihanna’s high-profile collaborations include the Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection, in her ongoing role as the sports brand’s women’s creative director. The singer in 2016 also designed a range of futuristic sunglasses in collaboration with Dior as part of her brand ambassadorship, and collaborated on two capsule footwear collections for Manolo Blahnik. In 2015, she signed a three-year deal as contributing creative director of Stance socks.

  15. This year’s Parsons School of Design Benefit has a high-wattage star attached: none other than Bad Gal RiRi herself. Rihanna will be honored — alongside Eileen Fisher and Neiman Marcus — at the school’s 69th annual benefit, taking place on May 22 at Pier 60. It’s not the only laurel she’s gotten recently for her charity work: Harvard named her its Humanitarian of the Year last month, an award she accepted with an immortal ponytail flick. Via The Cut
  16. Rihanna rakes in her 29th career leader on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart, as "Sex With Me" bumps 3-1. In the tally of the most No. 1s in the chart's 40-plus year history, Rihanna remains second only to Madonna, who has scored a record 46 No. 1s. Late last year, Rihanna was named the No. 3 Dance Club Artist in Billboard's Greatest of All Time recap of the ranking's first 40 years. "Sex With Me" is Rihanna's second No. 1 of 2017 ("Love On The Brain" reached #1 in January), following a year in which she earned four leaders, placing her in elite territory. Only four acts have scored four No. 1s in a calendar year, and Rihanna is the only one to do so four times (2007, 2010, 2011 and 2016). Lady Gaga tallied four in a January-December span twice (2009 and 2011) and Beyoncé (2009) and Katy Perry (2014) each earned the honor once. Rihanna's "Sex With Me (Remixes)" is available now on Tidal, Spotify and Apple Music.
  17. Via W Mag: There were plenty of memorable moments from the Fall 2017 season: Karl Lagerfeld's space ship at Chanel, Raf Simons' arrival in New York for Calvin Klein, Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger's Los Angeles extravaganza—the list goes on. But despite it all, there was just one show that truly merged everything you'd want in a 2017 fashion show: celebrity, spectacle, and, oh yeah, some actual fun fashion. That designer? None other than Rihanna, showing the third collection for her Fenty Puma line during Paris Fashion Week. The pop-star's past showings for the brand saw a haunted forest meets hall of mirrors, complete with goth-ified Hadids, for her debut in New York, and last season she featured modern day Marie Antoinettes. For Fall 2017, Rihanna upped the ante, (the Anti, if you prefer), as she took over Paris' Richelieu-Louvois Library for a show that read equal parts runway (models walked top of long desks, rather than the traditional catwalk) and detention—except you actually wanted to be here. Here, in a video premiering exclusively on W, Rihanna explains the inspiration for the show: "It's a huge library, and I couldn't think of anywhere better for the theme of this collection: back to school," the singer explains in the two minute clip. "All the cliques, all the lunch tables, all the different personalities and attitudes and looks and styles and energies. I'm really excited about it." The video also provides a backstage look at the so-called Fenty Class of 2017, which is filled with the season's most buzzed about models. Appearing in the clip are Joan Smalls, Slick Woods, Grace Elizabeth, Stella Maxwell, Hanne Gaby Odiele, and Dilone, all of whom appear both on the runway, as well as just before, receiving final touch ups from the designer. Also making an appearance? None other than Cara Delevingne, a Rihanna bestie and upcoming co-star: the two will also appear on-screen together, alongside Dane DeHaan, in this summer's Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The model-turned-actress is seen running backstage post-show as one of the many clamoring to give their congratulations. Bad girl? More like Most Likely to Succeed.

She merges sport silhouettes with the romance and grandeur of 18th century France. Sneakers, track suits, and boxing robes are reimagined, exaggerated, and elevated with luxurious fabrics and unexpected trims: intricate lace, fine pleating, playful bows, PUMA Cats, and piercing zip pullers. The unisex styles feature a soft, neutral color palette juxtaposed with Rihanna’s irresistible “je ne sais quoi". For those who get their hands on it: may your boldest self reign. 23. Via WWD: It was just a quiet night in the library with Rihanna. For her third Fenty Puma collection, RiRi paraded her fall collection at Paris’ Bibliothèque Nationale de France, where the stacks probably hadn’t seen this much excitement since the Dewey Decimal System was installed. There was very little reading being done. The long tables at which the audience sat, a classic green library lamp for just about every place, became the runway, as the models strutted by in riffs on private school plaids, letterman sweaters and jackets, basketball shorts, track suits, boxers and jerseys. There were wayward Catholic school girls, sexy jocks, punks and Goths — all done up with a major dose of Rihanna’s DGAF attitude. See the FENTY x PUMA collection After the show, she said going back to school thematically was a way to relive her school days and do all the things she wasn’t allowed to when she was a kid. “In Barbados, we don’t get to dress up in school,” said Rihanna. “It’s strictly school uniforms. Every time I would come to America, I would see kids getting into dressing up…this was my way of expressing myself in that avenue, having fun, creating looks that blended with the different cliques and marrying that world with sport.” The collection was fun, impressively staged and full of good energy, which is no easy feat at 9 p.m. on the second-to-last day of the four-week fashion week haul. Watch the fashion show A skateboard-toting female model in a long plaid robe of a puffer jacket, boxer shorts and no shirt set the tone for Rihanna’s bad gal school dress code. There was a cropped Puma pantha logo sweater worn with mixed navy and green plaid track pants and a big stuffed teddy bear backpack. An exaggerated sweater dress came in navy and yellow varsity stripes emblazoned with the year 1988. A corseted cropped T-shirt was worn with baggy basketball shorts and over-the-knee, lace-up boots based on classic Puma sneakers. The palette was based on traditional school colors — and then black and tan for the Goth kids who closed the show in aggressively oversized hooded faux-fur coats and sweats. Find more on Twitter and Instagram: @rihannadaily The look was quite different from Rihanna’s previous two collections — the first Japanese-Goth inspired, the second girly, sweet Marie Antionette-sport — but the mood was the same. Rihanna is reportedly working with different designers each season, but the end result reflects her very distinct, personal point of view. The lineup was full of a lot of clothes for real kids to realistically wear — puffers, windbreakers, hoodies and track pants, that were much cooler than Rihanna’s own school uniform. “It was like a khaki dress that zips up in the front and a blue and yellow belt with black shoes,” she recalled. “That sounds like fun, right?” Watch Rihanna backstage at the show

  25. It’s not just her music that Rihanna is receiving accolades for. The “Love on the Brain” singer headed to the hallowed halls of Harvard University on Tuesday, where she received the prestigious honor of 2017 Humanitarian of the Year by the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. Dr. S. Allen Counter, director of the Harvard Foundation, introduced Rihanna, saying, “Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados… It is for these philanthropic initiatives, and other acts of compassionate sharing, that the students and faculty of the Harvard Foundation chose to honor Rihanna with the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year Award.” “So I made it to Harvard!” the singer said as she took to the stage, where she spoke about the childhood that inspired her charitable work as an adult. “I’m incredibly humbled to be acknowledged at this magnitude for something, in truth, I never wanted credit for,” Rihanna told the crowd. “I remember watching TV (as a child) and I would see commercials with children suffering in other parts of the world, the ones where you could give 25 cents and save a child’s life. I said, ‘When I grow up and get rich I’m gonna help kids all over the world.’ I just didn’t know I would be in the position to do that by the time I was a teenager.” Looking chic in a gray, off-the-shoulder tweed dress and over-the-knee gray boots with her hair swept back, Rihanna challenged the crowd of students and fans to make a difference in their own lives. “We’re all human, and we all just want a chance,” Rihanna said. “A chance at life, a chance at an education, a chance at a future, really. And at CLF [the Clara Lionel Foundation], our mission is to impact as many lives as possible, but it starts with just one. Just one. As I stare out into his beautiful room, I see optimism, I see hope, I see the future. I know that each and every one of you has the opportunity to help someone else. All you need to do is help one person and expect nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian.” Rihanna started CLF in 2012 in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The organization funds education, health, and emergency response programs, and seeks to improve the life of young people around the world. And while she didn’t attend college herself, Rihanna hinted that there’s always the possibility she’ll pursue further education. “The truth the little girl watching those commercials didn’t know, was that you don’t have to be rich to be a humanitarian. You don’t have to be famous, or college-educated,” Rihanna laughed. “I wish I was, especially today. I might come back!” Before the big event, Rihanna went on a tour of the university and had lunch at Henrietta’s Table in the Charles Hotel. And according to the University staff, the Barbadian singer blended in with the students quite well. “I can’t tell you what a gracious person she’s been to our students all day,” said Dr. S. Allen Counter, executive director the Harvard Foundation. Rihanna’s Full Speech at Harvard (Text) Via PEOPLE and Just Jared
