After selling out the MSG show, Rihanna has added one more show for the NY!
Rihanna, one of today’s biggest pop music stars, will bring her energetic mix of rhythm and blues, rap and reggae to the New York State Fair this summer.
The Grammy-Award-winning singer will perform at the Fair’s grandstand at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, as part of her “Last Girl on Earth” tour.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m. They will cost $55 and $45 and will be available at the New York State Fair Box Office and through Ticketmaster. Admission to the Fair is included with the purchase of a grandstand concert ticket on the day of the show. Remember the Rihanna Birthday Project 2010? You don’t? Yeah me neither, there wasn’t exactly one, which I’m terrible sorry for. But I could’ve never forgiven myself if I let you guys down, so things have slightly changed and I’m proud to announce a small amendment. The project has now turned into a fanbook, so none of your contributions have gone to a waste.
The fanbook is called “The Fans’ Voice” and I will be handing it Rihanna personally today, just before she starts her second LGOE concert here in the Netherlands.
What Rihanna will receive is a 70-page hardcover fanbook, printed in optimal quality on glossy paper. There will also be two CDs attached in the book. We hope Rihanna will like it, wish me luck! Stay tuned for the outcome of this project.
Last week it was announced that Rihanna would be taking Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha on her Last Girl on Earth Tour this summer. But just days after the announcement was made, the Young Money rapper said that she wouldn’t be able to hit the road after all, citing the fact that she wanted to focus on recording her debut album.
When MTV News caught up with Ke$ha at rehearsals for “Saturday Night Live” where she’s this week’s musical guest, the “Tik Tok” singer had no idea about Minaj’s plans.
“I hadn’t heard that. Is that true? Oh, that’s a bummer,” she said. “I have no idea why and I hadn’t even heard that, but that’s a bummer.” She went on to say she had to think for a while about who she’d like to see replace Minaj on the tour. “I’ll get my wheels turning. I wasn’t aware of that, but I’ll totally think about it. I mean, I’m just so excited to be on the same stage as Rihanna. She’s obviously an incredible performer, singer, woman. So that tour’s going to be so much fun.”
