Following the successful release of her recent album Anti, Rih debuted her first major fashion collaboration with Puma yesterday evening since becoming the brand’s Creative Director. Similar to Kanye West‘s live streaming of Yeezy Season 3, Rihanna allowed fans to view the collection live via Periscope and Facebook. The highly anticipated collection included reconstructed pieces, minimal designs, and a lot of oversized items, perfect for anybody who likes to stay cozy.



As one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, Rihanna isn’t a woman who is easily impressed. And yet, there is something about Paris that has her starstruck. It’s partly why she chose to show her new Fenty x Puma collection at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, a stately 19th-century mansion in the Eighth Arrondissement of the city, today. You’d have to travel about 45 minutes west to hit the starting point for her inspiration: the Palace of Versailles. It’s in those gilded hallways, once inhabited by Marie Antoinette, that Rihanna shot her campaign for Dior back in 2015. Like many visitors to the grounds, Rihanna left feeling completely enchanted by the place and the extravagant lifestyle of France’s last queen prior to the Revolution.


For her third collaborative collection with Puma, Rihanna hit the library — the Bibliotheque Nationale de France (National Library of France) on the Rue de Richelieu to be precise — where she showed a fall 2017 Fenty Puma for Rihanna collection on March 6 that mined a textbook’s worth of collegiate motifs and earned her and her team an A-plus for effort.

The Fenty University collection, the singer’s third in collaboration with the Kering-owned sports brand, was presented against a backdrop of three-story-high library stacks with the models strutting along runways built to resemble wooden library tables — right down to the green-shaded lamps and occasional (prop) book scattered about.
