  1. Au revoir, Proenza. Adieu, Rodarte. Ta-ta, Thom Browne. While several high-profile American brands have decided to abandon New York Fashion Week for Paris, at least one major international name is doing the opposite and bringing her show back to town: Rihanna. After two seasons showing her Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection in Paris, WWD has learned that Rihanna is heading back to New York Fashion Week, where she launched the line with her first show for fall 2016. Rihanna was unavailable for comment but Puma issued this statement: “After two successful seasons showing during Paris Fashion Week, Rihanna has decided to return to New York and show her Fenty Puma by Rihanna spring 2018 collection during NYFW, making this the first time she will present during September NYFW.” Details of the date and location of the show have yet to be confirmed, but if the past is any indication, it will be one of the late shows with an elaborate set. Rihanna presented her first Fenty Puma collection at 23 Wall Street, followed by spring 2017 at Paris’ Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, and most recently at Bibliothèque Nationale de France for fall. Reportedly working with a different designer every season, including Adam Selman for spring, she’s veered in aesthetic from show to show — going from Japanese Goth to frilly 18th-century-inspired sport to stereotypical wayward schoolyard cliques — but always maintaining a sporty, gender-fluid baseline. Puma, which is controlled by Kering, signed Rihanna to a three-year contract as creative director in December 2014. “Puma trusted me in a major way that a lot of companies wouldn’t,” she said after her first show. The singer has myriad other fashion projects, including a Dior ambassadorship which included a sunglass range, as well as collaborations with Manolo Blahnik, Chopard and Stance socks, with which she signed a three-year deal in 2015. 2. Rihanna rules Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart (dated July 15) for a milestone 30th time, as "Pose" rises 2-1. The track was remixed by Alex Acosta, Country Club Martini Crew and The Perry Twins, among others. Rihanna moves closer to Madonna, who has racked up 46 leaders, for the most No. 1s in the chart's 40-plus-year history. Rihanna is also gaining fast; since Madonna's most recent No. 1, "B**** I'm Madonna," on Aug. 15, 2015, Rihanna has reached the top seven times, the most of all acts; Disclosure trails with four leaders in that span. Last year, Rihanna was honored as the No. 3 Dance Club Artist in Billboard's Greatest of All Time recap of the Dance Club Songs chart's first 40 years. "Pose" is Rihanna's third topper of 2017, the most of all acts, following "Love on the Brain" (Jan. 21) and "Sex With Me" (April 8). Dua Lipa is the only other artist with multiple No. 1s thus far this year (two). "Pose" is also the sixth leader from Rihanna's album ANTI, following "Work" (featuring Drake, April 23, 2016); "Kiss It Better" (Aug. 6, 2016); "Needed Me" (Aug. 20, 2016); "Love on the Brain"; and "Sex With Me." (During that run, she also reigned as featured on Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For," which logged a rare two-week reign on its way to becoming the chart's No. 1 song of 2016.) Rihanna is the first act to achieve as many as six No. 1s from an album since Katy Perry landed seven from the original edition of Teenage Dream in 2010-12: "California Gurls," the title cut, "Peacock," "Firework," "E.T.," "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" and "The One That Got Away." Also in that era, two more toppers, "Part Of Me" and "Wide Awake," were released from the set's 2012 re-release, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. Dating to the Dance Club Songs chart's Aug. 28, 1976, inception as a national survey, here's an updated look at the acts with the most No. 1s: 46. Madonna 30. Rihanna 22. Beyonce 19. Janet Jackson 17. Mariah Carey 17. Katy Perry 16. Kristine W 16. Jennifer Lopez 15. Donna Summer 14. Dave Aude 14. Enrique Iglesias 14. Lady Gaga 14. Pitbull
  3. Cara Delevingne, 24, and Rihanna, 29, are girl squad goals! Cara had nothing but compliments for Rihanna when she was asked about working with her on their upcoming film, Valerian! “I’ve seen her work in the studio, in concert, in meetings. But to see her act was incredible,” Cara gushed during an interview with Glamour. And, things only got better! Then, Cara recalled an intimate story from filming, where Rihanna proved why she’s such a badass. And, it turns out that Cara and Rihanna are very similar when it comes to their acting craft. The way Rihanna handled direction on set is similar to the way Cara takes cues. After she shared Rihanna’s on-set story, Cara admitted that Besson told her that both she and Rihanna are alike. “Luc said we were similar in that, once the trust was there, we became clay he could mold.” Amazing! In the upcoming film — which hits theaters July 21 — Cara plays Laureline; a “badass” who is a Spatio-Temporal Agent and “does the intelligent work” as Valerian’s partner, Cara revealed. The interviewer told Cara that Besson said she was perfect for the role of Laureline, to which the model replied, “He’s lying.” Um, we don’t think so, Cara! Check out the trailer for Valerian, below!
  4. Yas! Are you getting these, Ola?
  5. DJ Khaled's latest single "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller is a rush of nostalgia. The beat for the track, which arrived on Friday and will appear on the well-connected producer's 10th studio effort Grateful, due this Friday, heavily relies on the 1999 Carlos Santana classic "Maria Maria," with contributions from The Product G&B and Wyclef Jean's The Refugee Camp. The sexy guitar riffs played by Santana mixed with The Product G&B's silky smooth earworm of a hook and Jean's repeat-worthy ad-libs have made it an eternal summer classic. Fortunately, DJ Khaled's reboot gets the co-sign from the musician behind the hip-shaking original. 6. Dave Chappelle has been tapped to host Rihanna's third annual Diamond Ball on Sept. 14. The black-tie fundraising gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York will also feature a performance by Kendrick Lamar on a night dedicated to raising money for the Clara Lionel Foundation, an education, health and emergency response organization founded in 2012 by the singer (born Robyn Fenty), in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. Past Diamond Balls have featured live sets from Rihanna and Lionel Richie, as well as hosts Brad Pitt and Kevin Hart. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to support the foundation's work on "innovative education projects and scholarships, healthcare programs and local micro grants." Via Billboard

  12. Someone call President Obama: Chrissy Teigen has been (unknowingly) breaking the law. The model and best-selling author appears on Tuesday The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed during her visit that since moving into Rihanna’s old house, she’s been opening up the "Work" singer's mail. Since early this year, the model and musician are the owners of the $14.1 million modern-style house that belonged to Rihanna back in 2011. Featuring incredible ocean and city views of Southern California, the home boasts plenty of secluded outdoor space, from a sprawling patio to a pool and two balconies. The 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom house also comes equipped with some low-key perks like a private theater room, billiards party room, sauna and private gym—because celebs, they're just like us. The best part, besides the immense walk-in closet, is probably the incredible infinity bath tub that overlooks the canyons and Beverly Hills.
  13. Rihanna's gonna get all wet -- and probably (fake) bloody -- when she steps into the infamous "Psycho" shower, and her "Bates Motel" director is so psyched. Nestor Carbonell stars on the show, but will also be directing RiRi's upcoming episode where she plays Marion Crane ... the character in that legendary shower stabbing. TMZ got him out in L.A. -- walking his dog -- and tried to find out if he's going for a straight remake or putting a new twist on the scene. Check it out ... Nestor does spill at least one big deet. Via TMZ “I read this article in which Rihanna said she was a fan of “Bates Motel,” executive producer Carlton Cuse explained. "We asked and she said yes. It was awesome. We’re really excited about it. It really feels very much like the version of the character that is different from the movie." In the film “Psycho,” which serves as the loose inspiration for the series, Marion Crane checks into the “Bates Motel,” where she has the misfortune of crossing paths with motel owner Norman Bates. Her shower scene — where she gets stabbed to death — has become one of film’s most iconic. Cuse also said that the Marion character is one they wanted to make sure to include before wrapping the A&E series next year. “We wanted her to very much be her own character and we felt in order to do that we needed to find someone who was very, very special to play Marion.” Also on the panel with Cuse were executive producer Kerry Ehrin and stars Vera Farmiga (Norma), Freddie Highmore (Norman), Nestor Carbonell (Alex) and Max Thieriot (Dylan). “Bates Motel” will begin production this fall in Vancouver and will return for a final season in 2017 on A&E.
