A slamming Rihanna pop concert at Izod Center was thrown into top gear by the unexpected appearance of one of the world’s favorite rappers.
At the top of the encore set, Jay-Z emerged from beneath the stage on a circular platform, throwing the Meadowlands arena into a state of pandemonium. He had his trademark New York Yankees cap pulled low over his eyes, and he was looking down. But everybody in the crowded arena knew exactly who it was. For more than a minute, he held his pose, soaking in the night’s most enthusuastic ovation. Then he joined Rihanna for a rendition of “Run This Town,” their swaggering collaboration.

People in Alabama are continuing to dig out and rebuild, following the devastating tornadoes that stormed across the south back in April. Last night (7/11) in Birhmingham, Rihanna brought the community together for music and some much needed fun, in a nearly sold-out benefit concert to raise money for the state’s tornado relief effort.

Rihanna was forced to cut her concert in Dallas short after the stage caught fire. The show was taking place at the American Airlines Center, the home of NBA franchise Dallas Mavericks.
Rihanna tweeted, “DALLAS!!! We set the stage on FYAH tonight!!! LITERALLY!!! I’m so pissed, I was havin so much fun wit yall too!!! I gotta come back man!! Glad u guys are safe!!! I promise I’ll be back!!! Heading into a production meeting to find out exactly what happened!!! Keep u posted.”
Dallas Fire-Rescue Captain Johnny Bates said that apart from some chairs catching fire, no other loss or injuries were observed. Bates told KTVT, “One of our engine crews did enter the building but crew members with the AAC or concert put out the initial fire.”
