The new issue of Rolling Stone – on stands and online in the digital archive on Friday (subscription required) – features a deep interview with Rihanna in which she talks to contributing editor Josh Eells about her difficult upbringing, the endless rumors about her relationships and why she agreed to let a judge ease the restraining order against Chris Brown.
Appetite
There is a place is called Giorgio Baldi, and it’s her favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, maybe even the world. If she’s home for a week, which is rare, she might eat here four or five times. She usually gets the spaghetti and sometimes the gnocchi. Tonight, she gets both.
Beauty Secret
“It’s disgusting how gorgeous she is,” Katy Perry says. “Anytime I introduce my friends to her, male or female, the ride back always consists of, ‘What, does she drink the blood of virgins?’”
Chart Topper
Rihanna released her first single, the bubbly dancehall jam “Pon de Replay,” when she was just 17. Since then she’s put out a remarkable five albums in six years, for combined sales of 7 million. Eighteen of her songs have reached the Top 10; among female performers, only Whitney, Madonna, Janet and Mariah have more. If her latest single, “S&M,” tops the charts like it looks it could, it would be her 10th Number One – more than Beyoncé and Lady Gaga combined.

Sense of Humor
She’s trying to learn Italian – she got Rosetta Stone for Christmas – but right now, her foreign-language vocabulary consists mostly of swear words. She loves Jonah Hill and Michael Cera (although she calls them “the fat guy” and “the other guy”), and she says cheerfully that she’s trying to appreciate her body while she can, because she knows “butt and tits” are the first to go.

Watch below the complete interview with Chelsea Handler which was recorded earlier this week in Australia.
Rihanna talked about her stars-packed birthday and touring in Australia. The comedienne pointed out the lack of black people in the Land Down Under, which RiRi had also noticed while touring there. Plus, the red-haired singer spoke about trying to get inside Eminem’s head and shedding her clothes for a Nivea skincare campaign. “If it’s a skin product, how will I wear a long sleeve dress?” she joked.
Yesterday Rihanna tweeted:
Chelsea Handler I want more of you! We should do this again sometime soon, over 2 giant COCKtails

On her “Loud” tour, Rihanna gushed, “Cee Lo is coming on the road with me which is really, really exciting. Having him on tour with me will be amazing. It’s gonna be even bigger than my last tour, which I didn’t think it could get any better. I told Cee Lo he has to bring the Muppets and Gwyneth Paltrow.” Rihanna added, “I love her. She’s got the baddest shoe game in the business!” The singer also commented on her “S&M” video, which has been banned in 11 countries for its sexual content. “I think the ban worked out,” laughed RiRi. “I don’t think people would’ve been that curious if there wasn’t some controversy involved or connected to it. ‘S&M’ is my favorite video that I’ve ever, ever, ever done. I can’t wait to keep making more incredible videos and beatin’ them out every time. ‘S&M is gonna be a hard one to beat.’”

Via The Sun: Her dad’s treasured photo shows a pretty teenager dressed for a carnival in Barbados. Thirteen-year-old Robyn Fenty smiles warmly in an outfit emblazoned with musical notes and the number one.
Only now can we appreciate the significance.
For Robyn – known to millions by her middle name Rihanna – has blasted from humble beginnings on the Caribbean island to become the biggest female pop star in the world. Just four years before the cheery carnival snap was taken, Rihanna had walked in on her dad doing crack in their modest home in Bridgetown – and vowed her life would be different. That moment, and her father Ronald’s descent into hopeless addiction, helped spur the streetwise girl on to global success – and an estimated £143million fortune.
The Sun tracked down her 57-year-old dad to Rihanna’s old home town, where he sells clothes from the back of a car. And standing outside the tiny bungalow where Rihanna grew up, Ronald Fenty, who says he is now drug free, showed off his snaps and revealed her early talent.
He said: “The first time I heard her sing she was three years old, lying on her bed with a hairbrush for a microphone. Then, when she was seven, I heard her singing with our neighbour and I was amazed. She was doing the Aladdin song A Whole New World – it was so pretty I couldn’t believe it.” He added: “I made sure she went to school and did well. She liked to dance and had natural rhythm but she wasn’t doing all the school productions and stuff. So her success came a bit out of the blue.”
