One of the last to make her way up the 2012 Met Gala stairs was pop star Rihanna who told reporters that we can expect fashionable things from her in the near future.

“Yes. Designing is definitely in the near future for me and we’re working on it as we speak,” she said (wearing Tom Ford). “I can’t say it yet. But it will be fun, definitely things that I love and inspired by my personal style.”

Her personal style last night was a long gown, that she remarked:

“I know it looks really difficult to wear, but it’s really stretchy. The dressing part was easy, my nails took forever!”

Rihanna’s first capsule collection for Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani underwear was such a success she’s doing it again. Armani has just announced the pop star’s second capsule collection for the brand, set to hit stores worldwide in mid-April.

The denim range will include a pair of jean shorts lined with a tartan print (to show off when you roll them up super short), a romper in distressed denim that looks pretty cute judging by the sketch alone, and some easy tanks and tees.

Rihanna has teamed up with Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans to create her first fashion line, comprising denim and lingerie.

Already the face of both brands, the singer’s debut offering features T-shirts bearing her R logo and Armani’s signature eagle, classic biker jackets, a canvas rucksack, jeans in two different styles and sets of lace underwear that come in navy blue and pearl grey.

The collection will be available worldwide from mid-November.

Rihanna says Kate Moss inspired her to design a clothes range.

The singer’s interest in fashion has led her to launch her own collection. Rihanna is a huge fan of British supermodel Kate’s designs for high street chain Topshop and is keen to create a line which is just as successful.

“I’ve started work on the collection, we are getting it together. It is in the beginning stages. Fashion is something I have always loved,” Rihanna told Grazia magazine. “I love Kate Moss. She’s just hands-down one of the baddest badasses in the land. Nobody can take her down. I really admire Kate because every photo shoot she does is different. Every time you see her there is a different energy that she puts out in whatever outfit she is wearing. I think she is amazing.”

Rihanna is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to design clothes because it gives her an avenue to express herself away from her music career.

She explained: “I am a very creative person, so it is another way for me to get my creativity out.”

The 21-year-old beauty has been taking advice from Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini after being unveiled as the face of the Italian fashion house’s accessories last year. Rihanna is hoping to work with a range of fashion experts for the new line.

“I love designing. Frida has been helping me develop as a designer. I will probably work with some cool designers who I think have a similar sense of style and design to me.”
