BBC News: …It follows a similar mistake last year, where Katy Perry accepted the trophy for best international song, which should have gone to Rihanna. That did not stop Rihanna from appearing this year, when she performed her single Russian Roulette. At the end of the song, she fell a short distance off a platform at the back of the stage but quickly got up and walked off.
Ryan Tedder’s past list of collaborations ranges from James Morrison and Kelly Clarkson to Paul Oakenfold and he shows no signs of being pigeon-holed in any particular genre. Having so many contacts in the music industry, he’s never short of offers to work with other artists but this year he wants to keep it to a “relatively short list” of five or six people. Those so far on his radar include Ne-Yo, the Noisettes. Lupe Fiasco, Imogen Heap and in the new year, Rihanna. He admits he’s been trying to synchronise schedules with the Umbrella singer for about a year and a half now and wants to get her pushing the boundaries. He said: “She’s in a darker musical place right now… she’s got enough of those songs on Rated R to last for a while. I can do stuff dark musically, haunting kind of thing, but I want to have her do something vocally that she’s never done before.”
Recently back from India after filming a BBC documentary on child trafficking, Lindsay Lohan exuberantly tweeted. “I f**king love Rihanna so much and I have too much in common w/her NOT to be friends w/her* gorgeous girl and smart!”

Taylor Swift has nothing but admiration for Rihanna. “Rihanna is one of my favorite artists so if I ever have to perform in front of her I’m so petrified. I admire her so much and to have her sat there listening to my music would just make me so scared and nervous.â€
