Usher wants to do a duet with Rihanna. The ‘OMG’ singer said he has been close to the ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ hitmaker for some time and would love for them to make a track together.
He told UK TV’s ‘Loose Women’ program:
‘Of course I’d do a track with her – hold on! We’ve been friends and our teams work together and we’ve talked about working together in the past, but it could potentially happen. ‘I would love to work with her – I think she’s an incredible artist.’
Rihanna has caused a stir with her sexy video for single ‘S&M’, and her raunchy performances at the BRIT awards and at last weekend’s NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles. The singer wore a crystal-covered basque, fringed hotpants and fishnet stockings to perform a medley of her hits, reportedly shocking some of the crowd (like usual).
Usher has defended her, saying: ‘Artistic direction is just that, you know, and obviously subjective. Everyone has their opinion and it’s a family show. I think she is a responsible young lady and maybe the song represented the attitude of, you know, think about it like this – how long have guys been grabbing their crotches?’ That told them!
Rihanna has revealed some unknown info to Vanity Fair’s My Stuff. She talked about home, inspirations, clothes and beauty products. Click here or here to read it.

Nicki Minaj has mentioned Rihanna in a recent interview. She joked: “We’re not getting cozy—yet. There is a possibility ’cause she’s just a bad bitch. You never know. That’d be like a freakin’ crazy power couple right now in the world of females.” (Read more)
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have collaborated on a song called “Fly” (which will be on Nicki’s first album). She wrote:
“FLY is one of my absolute faves. I wanted to work with Rihanna for a long time. I’m very proud of her accomplishments ; especially since she was born on an island like me. This song is a female empowerment song. But then again, its not specific to just women. It speaks about flying, soaring high… in the face of every single solitary adversity that comes your way. I speak about how the media has attempted to box me in and how that has made me feel suffocated. After years of being dragged thru the mud, I’ve mustered up the courage to re-define myself. I believe that I represent an entire generation. My fans have become my family ; and together we have become a movement. Get ready for it. We came to win.”
“Rihanna was amazing. We didn’t rehearse, she just came in for the soundcheck and nailed the song first time. I hear she’s learning the guitar but who needs to play the guitar when you can sing like that? It was so beautiful. She sang great, she’s a sweetheart of a girl. She’s a big fan too. It was great.”
“My highlight of the year was actually last night, getting on stage with Bon Jovi. I mean, I love those guys — me and all my friends, we love them — so I had the opportunity to get onstage and not only [with] Bon Jovi, but [to sing] one of my favorite songs, too.”

The average American girl might spend summer camp trying to accessorize her lame crewneck tee or crushing on the boy two cabins down, but it didn’t go down like that for Rihanna and childhood friend-turned-singer Shontelle. Far from deconstructing T-shirts or penning gushy love notes, the Barbados-born singers were busy working up a sweat.
“Just picture Rihanna’s ‘Hard’ video,” Shontelle joked to MTV News, comparing their camp experience to the combat-inspired clip. “Picture both of us being that G.”
While Rihanna is currently prepping Loud and Shontelle dropped her sophomore LP last month, the future stars were once enrolled in a boot-camp-style cadets program on the lush island — though apparently the two didn’t share equal rank.
“I was the drill sergeant,” the 25-year-old informed us. “And yes, I did give [Rihanna] push-ups. I have given her push-ups.”
The Caribbean crooners can “laugh about it now,” and as if to offer further proof that there aren’t any lingering hard feelings, Shontelle said she recently caught a show on Rihanna’s Last Girl on Earth Tour “and we got in the studio. So there’s actually a track that we worked on together that’s gonna be on Loud.”
The “Impossible” singer confirmed widely circulated rumors that her fellow Bajan’s fifth album will revive pre-”Russian Roulette” Rihanna.
“Loud is a real contrast from the last album, from Rated R. It’s a lot brighter. … This album is gonna be so much fun, as you can tell just from the first single. It’s just like, ‘Unh, unh la la la,’ “ she explained, letting out the first bar of “Only Girl (In the World).” “That’s pretty much how the whole album sounds. It’s a lot of fun.”
“When I was writing my part, we were in the studio together, she really works hard. We were at one of her concerts and she literally got straight off the stage, walked right onto the studio bus, and went straight to work.”
The “Impossible” songstress revealed that “Man Down,” which she describes as “very dramatic,” was easy to write based on the duo’s comfort level that came with growing up together.
“It was good because it was like, ‘I know you, I know what you need, I know what you want.’”
In an exclusive interview with GQ.COM, Skarsgård – who plays Eric Northman in the vampire-themed HBO series – has talked about RiRi:
[...] “[Filming Battleship] is a different experience because Rihanna, we’re out there together for a couple of months. This is her first movie but she’s great, she’s really really good in it and her working… She’s got a crazy schedule. She’s really diligent and I’m impressed. We would work and then she’d fly to LA to perform at the MTV Music Awards and then fly back red eye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing. She’s really solid.”
Drake spilled the beans about their secret duet during a recent interview:
“I just did this great song with Rihanna so I hope we get to shoot a video for that too,” he revealed to MTV News backstage at his Miami tour kick-off this week. “I’m really excited about that song.”
Drake had reportedly written for Rihanna in the past, but the material did not make her album. He was careful not to give away too much about their latest collabo, which will likely appear on Rihanna’s new album Loud, due November 16.
“I don’t know if I’m supposed to talk about that actually.”
Shontelle sounds like she is on “Cloud 9”… can you blame her?
“I am such a happy girl right now. Things have been going really, really well,” said Shontelle, who called in to “The Ralphie Radio Show” on the day her sophomore album, No Gravity, hit stores. “I mean, I’ve been in the studio with Rihanna as well.”
The two songstresses go way back – to the days when they were both cadets in their home country of Barbados. Shontelle will now collaborate with Rihanna on Loud, which is due out this November. Layne noted that her and RiRi wanted to link up for a while now, and was happy that their schedules finally synced. Despite other reports, the “Impossible” singer insists she cleared it with Rihanna before announcing the news.
“I was very careful, I was like, ‘Ri, you let me know. If I’m not supposed to say anything, tell me,’” she recalled. “I literally didn’t say anything until I got the ‘all-clear’ and so, it’s all good.”
If you haven’t bought Shontelle’s amazing new album yet, be sure to do it now on iTunes or Amazon. It’s a mixture of Pop, R&B, Experimental and Rock influences and we encourage all Rihanna’s fans to buy it! For more Shontelle news, be sure to visit our family site ShontelleOnline.
