Rihanna was once again the big star of the MTV Video Music Awards. RiRi opened the show performing “Cockiness (Love It)” feat. A$AP Rocky and “We Found Love” feat. Calvin Harris. Unfortunately, she did not win Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, however, she took home the top honor: Video Of The Year for “We Found Love”. Below you can see all the photos & videos from the event. Congratulations, RiRi!

Gearing up for a performance on tonight’s show that will pair her with both A$AP Rocky for the official remix of her Talk That Talk single “Cockiness,” and house DJ Calvin Harris for the pair’s VMA-nominated #1 global smash “We Found Love,” Rihanna arrived under cover of night to get to work.
Pulling up in a white car outside Staples Center just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Rihanna emerged from her car looking simply elegant, wearing a white Celine Paris t-shirt and choker, ripped blue jeans and black, blue and orange Cleveland Cavalier-edition Air Jordan #4′s, her hair worn in a simple crop style.
Though the scene was quiet just moments before, somehow sensing their Admiral had arrived, a fleet of Naval ensigns (and paparazzi) appeared out of nowhere, yelling out for the singer and waving their iPhones in the air in an attempt to snap a picture of her. Rihanna was gracious and gave them a quick wave and hustled into the building to get to work.
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards are set to go live from Staples Center in Los Angeles TONIGHT at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Via MTV.com: Rihanna Navy, STAND UP, and salute Princess Ri, because she’s going to be OPENING the 2012 VMAs with “We Found Love” and a brand-new remix of “Cockiness (Love It).” That pretty motherf***** A$AP Rocky and DJ/producer wunderkind will join her for “Cockiness” and VMA house DJ Calvin Harris will join her live on the VMA stage for “We Found Love”. And so get ready, because the VMAs are about to get a lot nastier as Rihanna commands you to lick her persuasion, suck that titular cockiness, and, of course swallow. It’s Rihanna’s fourth VMA performance, and something tells me that “Cockiness” is gonna be her freakiest VMA look at the good girl gone bad.
Rihanna’s also nominated for five VMAs, including Video Of The Year for “We Found Love” and “Take Care” with Drake and Best Pop Video and Best Female Video for “We Found Love.” And knowing how hard the Rihanna Navy’s been training for their VMA voting mission, something tells me that she’ll be back up on that Staples Center stage to accept a Moonman or two after her opening performance.
