Rihanna is set to make her first film feature appearance by joining “Battleship”. Variety reports that the R&B singer has sealed the deal, which was announced on Monday, July 26, with Universal Pictures. Her representative has further confirmed the news to E! Online.

Rihanna is added to the cast ensemble which already has Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard playing a Naval officer and his brother respectively. However, the character that will be portrayed by the “Take a Bow” hitmaker has not been unveiled yet.

Based on Hasbro’s game, “Battleship” will focuses on a massive Naval adventure across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Peter Berg is attached to take the helming duty for the action film, which gets May 18, 2012 release date in the U.S.

Rihanna previously starred in “Bring It On: All or Nothing” which was released direct-to-DVD. At that time, she did not appear as anyone else but herself.

Hey guys! I’m sorry for this late update, but I was spending the entire day punching myself to make sure I wasn’t still dreaming.

So here goes nothing:

After a few stressful hours before the concert last night in Arnhem, the Netherlands, I was finally allowed in to a meet & greet with Rihanna. We were not allowed to take photos up close, no hugging, kissing and even signing. I felt sorry and not only for the people who were there and paid a lot of money, but also for Rihanna. I think the meet & greet ended up to be rushed because of the great delay you most certainly heard about.

It was then when I started freaking out, because I had the fanbook all wrapped up beautifully in silver paper. So I jumped out of the line everyone formed and I agressively tore the wrap apart. The security must’ve been thinking what in the world is he doing. I quickly rushed back into the line and it was my turn.

Because everyone literally took 5 seconds for a photo with Rihanna and walk out, I immediately started introducing myself as I walked up to her. “Hey Rihanna, I’m Ruben from Rihanna Daily”. She started smiling and said “Oh my God, I so know you!” putting her arms around my neck. From that moment I was just stunned, she said something about my hair and she was touching it and I told her I came to give her a fanbook from Rihanna Daily and she loved it. She didn’t have time to have a look into it, but I wanted to make sure we took a picture together with the fanbook to show you guys she really received it. So we did that and as I was escorted out of the room she was still talking to me. I was so bummed about the rushing and the pushy security. Rihanna was very kind and tried to take all the time even though she was late.

I was left outside the room, speechless. Then I realized I forgot my bag, I left it in the room. So I casually walked back in and I saw this woman sitting on a chair with the fanbook in her hands, reading, flipping through the pages. I grabbed my bag and I recognized her. It was Jennifer Rosales, Rihanna’s PA. So I quietly asked her if she could take a picture with me and she was like aw sure and called someone to take a photo of us haha. Jen is so cute.

After that security once again escorted me out. I was the only one left outside the meet & greet room, everyone was off to the concert. After a few minutes Rihanna walked by on her way to the stage and I told her a quick good luck. She said thank you and she smiled. Someone took me to the Golden Circle section and I never got a spot like this in a concert. We walked behind the stage and that’s when I heard everyone booing because of the holdup. As I took my place at the front, the Mad House started playing. It couldn’t be more perfect, it was a dream come true.

The show in all honesty was absolutely phenomenal. It was EPIC. That’s all I can say for now. I will post a quick review soon.
