55th Annual GRAMMY Awards Nominations

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominations have been announced last night. Congratulations to Rihanna for receiving three nominations for her “Talk That Talk” singles.

Best Pop Solo Performance (“Where Have You Been”)
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (“Talk That Talk”)
Best Short Form Music Video (“We Found Love”)

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on GRAMMY Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

This year’s GRAMMY Awards process registered more than 17,000 submissions over a 12-month eligibility period (Oct. 1, 2011 – Sept. 30, 2012). GRAMMY ballots for the final round of voting will be mailed on Dec. 19 to the voting members of The Recording Academy. They are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Jan. 16, 2013, when they will be tabulated and the results kept secret until the 55th GRAMMY telecast.

      Rihanna won two Grammys for Run This Town…one for Best Rap/Sung Collab and another for Best Rap Song because she had writing credits on it.

How come sometimes RD says she has 6 Grammys, then other times, says she has 5 Grammys? Isn’t it a total of 6 Grammys to date?

  Lots of people make that mistake because they feel Rihanna co wrote All of the Lights like she did with Run This Town, but she didnt so she only won the Rap/Sung Collab Grammy not Rap Song.
  
  Rihanna will get that 6th Grammy soon though. Just watched all the video Grammys nominess and WE FOUND LOVE is looking very strong

  Whenever an artist is nominated for a Song, the award actually goes to the writer and not the artist. If it’s Rap Song, R&B Song, Pop Song, etc. The writer is actually the winner. The artist name is only associated with nomination, because people more than likely does not know the writer. If Rihanna is credited for writing a song a she’s nominated then she’ll walk away with that award. It’s the same like say best costume at the Oscars, the costume designer gets the actual award.

Best short film when We Found Love premiere even NON-fans where excited because it was PERIOD a good ass video. So yeah that will definitely win the Grammy.

  In a way I feel she was robbed too but technically she wasn’t. Had the label waited just one week to release WE FOUND LOVE Rihanna would definitely have gotten multiple nominations for WE FOUND LOVE including record of the year.
