Rihanna is now on her way to Mexico City, for the first of seven concerts from the 777 Tour. If you follow @RihannaDaily on Twitter, you know that a lot happened today!

About 150 people, including journalists and lucky fans, met at a Los Angeles hotel in the morning. They later took a bus to LAX Airport, where they got to Rihanna’s 777 Boeing. Since we weren’t there (yet), here are some great reviews:

• MySpace:
  So I’m on the plane. It’s just a regular Delta jet and I have a middle seat, but Rihanna has left us all giant swag bags filled with headphones, socks and an actual diamond. It’s crowded and crazy and everyone is confused, but the vibe is good and there’s a solid feeling of excitement in the air as the plane fills with journalists. It’s definitely been a messy process so far, but it’s also been fun. We are all making fast friends and will probably become BFFs after sleeping together on a plane for seven days. Rihanna isn’t here yet, but Congorock — our exclusive insider — is sitting a few rows ahead of me.

• MTV:
  Not long after we boarded, a voice came on over the loudspeaker: “Ladies and gentlemen, there is an emergency code f—ing 777. Who’s ready for Mexico? Who’s ready for tequila?” Rihanna had just stepped onto her private twinjet and it was pandemonium. In a flurry of flashes (and with journalists throwing ‘bows for a clear shot), Rih made her announcement. Wearing a black tank, backpack and jeans and swapping her short ‘do for her longer, half-shorn coif, the star greeted her press corps, calling this ambitious tour some “presidential sh–.”

  “Everybody look in their gift bags right now. There’s a string in there that looks sh-tty and cheap. But it’s a real diamond!!! I don’t want you guys to lose that. You can never say you’ve never has a diamond in your life. Give it to someone special. I love you,” Ri surprised her guests.
