New “Oprah’s Next Chapter” previews

Nothing was off limits when Oprah sat down with Rihanna in her native Barbados for an interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” During one of her more vulnerable moments, tears streamed down Rihanna’s face when she was asked about her ex-boyfriend.

“It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend. I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark,” she said while recalling the events that led to their breakup.

Plus, RiRi gave Oprah a tour of her childhood home and presented her mother with a surprise that she’s been wanting to give her since she was a little girl.

“I’m gonna look so soft,” said RiRi about their revealing conversation, which will air August 19 at 9 p.m. on OWN.

Seeing RiRi cry makes me want to hug her. It’s nice to be able to see the real Rihanna. Not just her raunchy side but her vulnerable, loving side. What people see on stage is just an act and I feel some confuse her stage persona with who she actually is. I can’t wait for this interview!! Love her!

I am glad for this interview. The fact that people expect stars and superstars to be like they are made of iron, this gives them (people) the opportunity to see that they (superstars) are human beings like the rest of us, they have feelings, they do the same things like the rest of us, they want in their lives the things we want and so on…..and also bearing in mind that on stage they are in character to put on a good show for the fans and haters alike, after that performance the loneliness and missing family and home sets in, why? because they are human like the rest of us.

I hope she is not going to come across too soft – but it seems like she melts when anything is asked about a certain person and she is still not over that relationship, she apparently had him as a friend and whatever else, and the tears still flow up to this day. You see, right there, there is nothing none of us can do about that, the feelings are very strong and still exist and only Rihanna can fix that when she is ready.

Perhaps this type of interview is necessary for her to release some pent up emotions that are maybe causing her to show certain behaviours in public – this would help her to turn a new leaf and continue to stay grounded and humble. She has the talent to be a clothing designer, an actress, and a holy host of other things – but she needs to get past this chapter in order to reveal the other things she has instore to progress further.
