Via The Sun: Jay-Z hosted the bash in London last night and security was so tight that guests were asked to bring photo ID — even though they were some of the biggest stars in the world. Jay-Z hosted the afterparty, held at the Dstrkt club, to celebrate his manager Ty Ty’s 40th birthday. A source said:
“This was the hardest party to get in to. Only 150 people were invited and every guest had to carry an appropriate form of identity or they were not getting through the doors. Security wouldn’t have batted an eyelid about turning them away — if you didn’t show proof of who you were, you just weren’t getting in.”
Rihanna wasn’t the only guest who flew in especially for the party. Jay-Z asked his oldest friends in the industry to make the journey. They rubbed shoulders with a host of other big names inside. Kanye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian, Rita Ora and her boyfriend, Kim’s brother Rob Kardashian, plus rappers Mr Hudson and D’Banj featured on the guest list. Gwyneth Paltrow, who took her two kids to Friday night’s Watch The Throne show, was also there.
The party kicked off at 11pm and Jay-Z did a mini set. His chef was flown over from New York and club staff were warned to have plenty of Ace Of Spades champagne. The guest list demonstrated the pulling power of the world’s biggest rappers, as have the London shows. All three have sold out and the opening night on Friday also attracted some big names in British music, including Cheryl Cole, and members of JLS and One Direction.
