Rihanna wins at NRJ Awards

French Navy, thanks to your votes, Rihanna collected the International Female Artist Of The Year award at the 2012 NRJ Music Awards.

Unfortunately, RiRi was unable to be there but thanked her fans on Twitter:

“Thank you NRJ and my #FRENCHNavy and all the fans who voted, for your immense support! I love you always #InternationalFemaleOftheYearNRJ”

    Honey we'r in the third single now and the album is still Certified Gold when it should be Platinum by now , so yes she needs to do promo for the single/album , she can go to morning / night shows talk about the album and perform the current single which is YDO .

    She should do what Katy Perry did released her album in 2010 and toured in 2011 , so in Rihanna's case she released late 2011 , so she should start the tour in beginning of 2013 starting February to November .

You know, I'm totally fine with Rihanna not immediately promoting her CD. I can understand what it's like to want to separate yourself from a demanding work life b/c of exhaustion & stress. She already has some interesting things lined up for 2012! Plus, Rihanna has only recently released her second single. The album hasn't been out for very long anyway. I'd much rather prefer her cooling off before rushing into another whirlwind year of exciting projects!

Let's face it, Rihanna's been consistent in working on, producing & releasing albums for the last half-dozen years. I think at this point in her career (just my observation), having top sales isn't her main priority. She's doing fairly well without much promotion :) This seems like more of a transition period than anything; her brand is rapidly changing/expanding. I personally would like to see her explore these opportunities instead of continuing with her usual pattern of dropping a cd & immediately heading into a world tour, rinse, lather, repeat…;)

@Navy,,,Any navy officer are fan or stan will get bashed, called names who is a fan, stan
of Rihanna's because the haters do not want her having fans taking her side, they call
her more nasety names than they do real porn stars and a win for her sends the
haters into outer space with anger and bitterness toward her and her navy stay focus
and less keep the party going. One thing i can do as a fan is not support blog sites
that bash and bad mouth her and see how they like that, smiles!!!!

And I agree with your last bit about RIhanna & her team. She does have a team of professionals to help her with marketing & such so I'm not worried about her lack of presence. Beginning February, Rih's performances will give her some shine as well as the exposure from her collaborations. I'm sure as she releases TTT & other singles, she'll seek out more promotional opportunities. However, there is a fine line between being well-promoted & overexposed. For Rihanna's sake, I hope she doesn't cross it! I can only imagine the HATE!
