    Rihanna’s Top 20 Billboard Hits
    Posted by on 6:43am in

There are only a handful of femmes that can make being bad look so good and do it so well. Rihanna, without a doubt, is one of them. With her free spirit, style and talent, the Barbadian singer has won the hearts of many since her pre-Roc Nation days. We can’t wait to see what Rihanna has in store with her sixth studio album, “Talk That Talk,” set for release Monday (Nov. 21).

In time for the release of “Talk That Talk,” Billboard.com is counting down Rihanna’s top twenty Billboard hits. This chart of Rihanna’s 20 top Billboard hits is based on actual performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 through the chart dated Nov. 12. Songs are ranked using an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least.

Check out under the cut Billboard’s countdown. And which Rihanna’s number 1 song is your favourite?

    20. Shut Up And Drive
    Rihanna
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 15
Released in the summer of 2007, this sexy “woman as car” metaphor track is one of four songs from that album to make it onto this list of Rihanna’s biggest hits. In the song, she purrs that she’s looking for a driver and “can you handle the curves?” Apparently the answer was yes. The song spent plenty of quality time on the Hot 100 and reached as far as No. 15.

    19. Break It Off
    Rihanna & Sean Paul
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 9
This 2006 single from Rihanna’s album “A Girl Like Me” was not only performed with Sean Paul, he also co-wrote the song, a “feelin’ naughty” duet of sorts that moved into the top 10 of the Hot 100.

    18. Cheers (Drink To That)
    Rihanna
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 7
Released at the tail end of 2010, this “Loud” single (one of four from that album to make this list) indeed gave Rihanna something to toast about as the party-centric tune moved up to No. 7 on the Hot 100.

    17. We Found Love
    Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (two weeks as of chart dated 11/19/11)
This first single from Rihanna’s hugely-anticipated 2011 album “Talk That Talk” “found” its way to No. 1 on the Hot 100 (for two weeks, as of this writing) after just six weeks spent climbing the chart. The success of the song made her just the seventh artist in the 53-year history of the Hot 100 to score at least 11 Hot 100 chart-toppers.

    16. Hard
    Rihanna featuring Jeezy
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 8
Rihanna enlisted rapper Jeezy for this “Rated R” bombastic, uptempo jam (and its fashion-forward battle field-set video). No one has ever rocked a soldier’s helmet (or a tank) quite like RiRi did. The combination was more than enough to catapult the 2009 track to the top 10 of the Hot 100.

    15. Unfaithful
    Rihanna
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 6
Rihanna has all the bases of pop music covered. Dancefloor anthems? Check. Sweet collabs with superstar rappers? Check. Double-diva pop gems? Sure. Ballads? Also, sure. Her melancholy 2006 single (from “A Girl Like Me”) took her to No. 6 on the Hot 100.

    14. Hate That I Love You
    Rihanna featuring Ne-Yo
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 7
“Good Girl Gone Bad” was more than good for Rihanna, spawning this, one of several Hot 100 hits. With a little help from Ne-Yo, the track reached No. 7 in 2007.

    13. S.O.S.
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (three weeks)
Rihanna, an infectious beat, and a healthy “Tainted Love”-inspired melody? Yes, please. “S.O.S.,” which finds RiRi begging for rescue from a boy she’s fallen for “head over heels,” spent three whole weeks atop the Hot 100 in 2006.

    12. Don’t Stop The Music
    Rihanna
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 3
We defy you to get the hook from this pounding 2007 dancefloor favorite out of your mind. Not only did it reach the top five of the Hot 100, it generated a Grammy nomination.

    11. Pon De Replay
    Rihanna
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 2
One by one, two by two, everyone in the club was certainly rocking to the beat of this 2005 single, which made it all the way to No. 2 on the Hot 100 and helped establish Rihanna as a hitmaker to be reckoned with.

    10. Run This Town
    Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West
    Hot 100 Peak Position: 2
The Roc Nation protégé, alongside Kanye West, teamed up yet again with boss-man Jay-Z for the anthem of 2009. It’s worth mentioning that “Run This Town” marked Rihanna’s first musical appearance since her altercation with Chris Brown, and what a return it was.

    9. S&M
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (one week)
Rihanna plays bad so good. The singer pulls out the whips and chains for the risque “S&M” song and video, even getting flagged by YouTube viewers.

    8. What’s My Name?
    Rihanna featuring Drake
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (one week)
Rihanna and Drake give us a glimpse into their maybe-was romantic encounter in the “Loud” duet. It became her eighth No. 1 a year ago this month.

    7. Only Girl (In The World)
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (one week)
“Only Girl” introduced the world to a red-tressed Rihanna and past her “Rated R” rainy days. And, it took RiRi to a new comfort zone: dance. The first single off “Loud” won the singer a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.

    6. Rude Boy
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (five weeks)
Rihanna will tell you how she wants it, when she wants, and at what speed. Yes, we said it. Take “Rude Boy.” The “Rated R” single’s saucy lyrics and vibrant Caribbean visuals kept the singer at No. 1 for five weeks.

    5. Take A Bow
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (one week)
Man, Ne-Yo can surely write a ballad to empower a woman scorned (hear also: “Irreplaceable”). “You’re so ugly when you cry. Please. Just cut it out,” Rihanna sings on “Take a Bow.” The Stargate-produced ballad, heavy with ‘tude, took Rihanna all the way to No. 1.

    4. Disturbia
    Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (two weeks)
There’s no denying Rihanna sharpened her acting chops for “Disturbia.” But could Chris Brown have done better than his ex? C.Breezy, who co-wrote the two-week No. 1, is said to have passed “Disturbia” to RiRi because he felt a female voice would do it justice.

    3. Umbrella
    Rihanna featuring Jay-Z
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (seven weeks)
Jay-Z said it best, “Rihanna: Good girl gone bad.” “Umbrella” was a defining moment in Rihanna’s career and fashion evolution. The island girl cut and colored her tresses, taking a turn for the sexy and making “Umbrella” Rihanna’s longest No. 1 as a lead artist.

    2. Love The Way You Lie
    Eminem featuring Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (seven weeks)
After a turbulent end to her and Chris Brown’s relationship, Rihanna bravely jumped on Eminem’s emotional song and controversial video about domestic violence, “Love the Way You Lie,” which Rihanna crafted a sequel to on “Loud.” It was powerful enough to stay up top for seven weeks straight.

    1. Live Your Life
    T.I. featuring Rihanna
Hot 100 Peak Position: 1 (six weeks)
Who more perfect to team up with T.I. for “Live Your Life” than the “gangsta 4 life” herself, Rihanna? T.I.’s swaggerific anthem of 2008 won the two artists the 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards for Best Hip-Hop Collaboration and Best Hip-Hop Video.

My Dearest Rihanna, I have been following you ever since you release your first single and I am amazed at your success. I am very proud of what you have achieved, but please get some rest. I read a very bad review this morning and I watched your O2 performance. You are clearly exhausted. Please don't damage your brand by pushing yourself beyond what is humanly possible. A week or two of complete rest should do it. I remember when the haters said your tours would flop and no one would come see you. Look at you now. Soaring. Love your new album. You are Pop Queen of the World. This is your moment.

    • Nick

I know we all love WFL but come on…better than Umbrella? Not even close!

      • ali

Some of these guys weren't fans in the 'MOTS , AGLM and GGGB' days , they weren't till Loud came and they jumped in the bandwagon , they don't know how much Umbrella was huge 'Monster of 2007' .

        • closetmonsta

The question is not what song is better but which one you like best, it's personal preference.
For instance, I picked take a bow over all others (including umbrella) and I stand by it. EVERY DAMN DAY. :)

Everyone is caught up in Talk That Talk at the moment to make a clear conscientious vote on all time #1. I think Umbrella is still the chart topper. But that is only my opinion and it is tough to pick an absolute favorite as all RiRi's catalog of music is pretty outstanding. Even though not #1's some of her earlier cuts like, Final Goodbye, Million Miles Away, Last Song are really really great songs of hers. Keep pumping out the great tunes Rihanna. TTT should be another KillerB)

        • SOSMANDOWN

Hey ali, don't forget "Photographs", all I got, all I got, are these Photographs. That was a strong song.

        • SOSMANDOWN

ali, did you ever hear "Bad Girl" featuring C.B.?

          • ali

I Know the song and i hate it

    • SOSMANDOWN

My vote went to Only Girl (In The World) That was the opening song on the LOUD Tour as NAVY already knows. It was very powerful. The way they built up the excitement. The Lights, the Video image flashing of Rihanna's face, and the LOUD noise coming out of those massive speakers. It was the built up to one LOUD Orgasmic Release from the crowd. I enjoyed every second of it! What song did you vote for? Let me know and why.

      • ali

You know a lot of artist use their number one hits as their Encores , but Rihanna have a lot of massive hits , number 1's and top 10's , so she uses as the openers and i can see her in the future not using some of her hits on her tours , because she have a lot of them , LOL !!!

      • ali

And i voted for Umbrella ^_^

Damn Rihanna was hours late and got booed last night. Is she doing that much partying? This is what happens when you party to much.

    • Wat

      Glee #1 on itunes. Whatever

    • Random

IDK IF SHE GETS BOOED IF U BOOED HER LAST NIGHT GET THE FUCKKK OUT OF HER CONCERT NO ONE FORCED U TO PAY AND GO AND SEE HER FUCKING TWO FACED FANS

      • Mikki

Are you crazy? Thousands of people paid hard-earned money, hired babysitters or brought their kids, took public transportation etc., for her to be 55 minutes late to a 2 hour show, for the third time this month. So these people started thinking that now they either had to leave in the middle of the concert or stay til the end and miss the last train or bus home. Which would then mean that they would have to pay for a hotel in the city or sleep outdoors that night, because Riri (whom I happen to love as an artist) was late. Sorry, she deserved the booing. That was disrespectful of her – and she may not have to refund these people's money but she certainly needs to apologize. Hope it was a valid reason.

        • Mikki

That being said, I just listened to the two new singles along with Cheers, G4L etc… Riri's pretty f**n awesome!!!

        • LilMsSunshine

          @Mikki

There's a lot of people that agree with you and understand your position & your anger. THERE'S NO REASON RIHANNA SHOULD BE LATE FOR HER CONCERTS, UNLESS IT'S A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, or some type of technical problems. Either way, when she's late, she should say something to her fans to let them know that there's something wrong, a problem beyond her control.

And when she's late for a concert, and she never talks about why she was late, my immediate reaction is the concert was delayed because of RIHANNA. Think about it, she's not going to tolerate her employees, the dancers, the stage hands, the musicians, her assistants, etc. being late. I have no doubt that the problem is RIHANNA.

The truth will come out one day.

WHAT GOES ON IN THE DARK WILL COME TO LIGHT!!!!!
