Don’t forget that tonight Rihanna is performing at the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas and will team up with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles.
Nettles will join RiRi to perform a duet of “California King Bed,” a guitar-driven ballad off Loud that should translate easily for country music listeners. The two performers already met yesterday in Vegas and you can see their picture here.
ACM Awards will start at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and you can watch a live broadcast here. You can tune in to GAC at 4 p.m. PT already for the official ACM Awards Red Carpet Live pre-show.

I just found out that Rihanna and Jennifer aren't performing the duet until the last hour of the telecast, I hate that because we have to watch the whole award show until rihanna comes on, why didn't they put her and Jennifer at the beginning of the show,

Oh, I thought Rihanna did a great job tonight. I'm usually pretty critical but she did better than I thought she would, tbh. For her first time performing this difficult song? She was rock solid. No voice cracks or anything….pretty impressed.
Now what she has to do is make it her OWN. This is a winning song, especially live. We need her on Letterman, Ellen etc.
And what was the surprise? Her shorter 'do? It's really cute, but I hoped the video would be out tonight.

Every performance should be a great one. There are singers out there who perform great every time whether its a new song or an old one. Why is it no one ever say I expected more. I know what I said and I stand by it. I said she did better than I thought because seems to be a new genre for her. What single has she had out like "CKB"?? And it's the first time performing it. First runs of a new single are usually shaky. Don't believe me? Watch B.eyonce doing "If I Were A Boy" for the first time or even "Crazy In Love". They stunk. I used to be a Bey fan & have watched how these things evolve even among "balls out" performers..
But I actually loved this performance. I loved how their voices sounded together and I liked hearing Rihanna belt. THIS is what I want to see more of! And i noticed a lot of fans of other artists seem threatened as they saw something in her performance tonight just like I did.

rihanna sounded amazing. i do agree i think her mic was very low. the other lady was not really producing big vocals. if rihannas volume was up you would see rihanna was definitely singing stronger. dont know why she was so low. but she was shitting CKB. one of her best vocals too. controlle, strong and solid. shame the audio was screwed up.

You are right corrine , i was listening for the notes and nothign was off her voice didnt crack it was pure, CKB is a strong difficult song and rihanna perform it well her vocals are growing and as her voice matures more she will have a stronger voice. she is not going to be a big belter or heavy weight like some others but she will have a strong voice. madonna voice when she was younger was horrible . now look she has a great voice.

yip nettles did sound alright. but she is no rihanna nor did she even come close to outshining her. you know some artist stamp their voices to songs and cant be reproduced by other people. thats exactly what rihanna does. no matter how many people say she cannot sing and be hating which is obviously so far from the truth they can never touch her songs and make them good. big up to RIRI. so proud to be bajan. and you heard her harmonizing. girl is such a star. cant wait to hear her sing this alone and mash it up again. woot woot

Well… I don't like the customers always complaining after the LIVE performances here.
I say she did sound really good for a firsty… backin' and frontin' vocals. Also kudos to the rythm guys and Nuno for the virtuosity on the guitars. It makes the sound complete. I like that !!!

Glad to see some other favorable reviews chiming in. I'm like, were we watching the same performance? I was very proud of Rihanna tonight.
I just want to see her do this song live on Letterman and the like. A nice sexy gown and the use of ACTING skills. Use those killer eyes they talked about in Rolling Stone! lol Stare right into the camera and act out the lyrics…..This is a dramatic song where Rihanna could really get into it!!

I rarely comment on here but I do check this site often. I'm sorry but RIHANNA KILLED IT. I'm officially happy that she can do justice to her songs vocally. My only problem was how in the beginning the lady's voice was a bit too loud and she was over singing like she was trying to steal Rihanna's thunder (you can tell cause on the second chorus Rih went for the low melody). Like chileee boo, not your song woman. Rihanna took it back though by the bridge and home ran that song. Get it RIH! A snap and a blow kiss to a great performance.

I loved this performance… it's one of her bests performances ever :) She's grown vocally through the years.. I bet you you guys were waiting for the surprise rihanna promised us before doing this performance.. well it's actually in this performance.. Where she sang the highest tone, you could see a part of her music video for California King Bed.. Look closely :)

People fail to realize something was wrong om her mic. The sound was low. If you check it later you realize they fixed it and you can hear her much louder because her true very soulful voice is shining through. Haters will always hate and will always find something to hate about. It keep them alive.She SANG her song and killed it!!!! Can't wait for her to sing it on her own and put the ones who says she can't sing to shame.
