Finally a new Rihanna interview!
Rihanna’s crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last week erupted when Eminem surprised the audience by joining the singer on stage during her Live Nation concert tour. The two sang their duet, “Love The Way You Lie,” about an abusive relationship. After the show, Access Hollywood was exclusively backstage with Rihanna as she opened up about why she chose to be a part of the emotional song.
“It’s something that, you know, we’ve both experienced, you know, on different sides, different ends of the table,” Rihanna told Access of her reasons for taking part in the song. “He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it’s something that people don’t have a lot of insight on,” Rihanna said of Eminem’s track.
Despite her own volatile relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna did not shy away from the chance to be a part of the explosive lyrics of Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie,” which includes the lyrics from the rapper, “I laid hands on her/I’ll never stoop so low again/I guess I don’t know my own strength” and Rihanna singing, “Just gonna stand there and watch me burn, but that’s alright because I like the way it hurts.”
“I knew if he sent me a record there must be something to it,” Rihanna explained of how she was brought on board. “It couldn’t just be, ‘Oh, Duh! She was in that relationship so we have to get her.’ The lyrics were so deep, so beautiful and intense. It’s something that I understood, something I connected with,” Rihanna added.
In other Rihanna news, the singer revealed she has become party planner for pop star pal Katy Perry’s bachelorette party. Katy is set to marry British funnyman Russell Brand on an undisclosed date.
“It’s taking up way more time than my tour,” Rihanna laughed. “It’s so much pressure. Her wedding is probably going to be the best wedding I’ve ever been to and now I have to match the bachelorette party to that.” Rihanna said she’s taking inspiration from Katy’s stylized look for the event. “I could have balloons and Disney characters there and she’ll still make it wild. That’s just Katy Perry. There’s no way around that with her,” Rihanna said.

I watcted Access Hollywood and what I gathered by what Rih was saying is that she knows what it is like to be in the cycle of domestic abuse. It does not matter if you are dating, engaged, and married abuse is abuse. Rih knows what it is like going back to the abuser.
Some may think she was saying she still cares about her abuser. I think it is the opposite. I think she has clearly moved on with Matt. Now that Rih is in a adult relationship with Matt she probably knows how blessed she is to not be in a abusive one.
I know I have said it a million times I pray Matt loves and treats Rih like a woman needs to be treated. I know Rih is a strong woman, but she needs tender, love, and care. I just want Rih to be happy in her life.

Rihanna signs up for first film role in ‘Battleship’
Rihanna is ready to hit the big screen. The 22-year-old singer has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming film Battleship, USA TODAY’s Cindy Clark reports. She will star alongside Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) and Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood).
The film, which will be helmed by actor/director Peter Berg, is based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters in May 2012.

Looks like RiRi has been reading my posts about getting her butt on the big screen after her U.S. tour wraps. This movie has been on the board since 2009 but there were some changes made like in most projects. The casting of Rihanna is a complete surprise and a very recent addition. It appears Tom Arnold leaked the news prematurely. The movie will be promoted as a big budget blockbuster summer 2012 film. The movie will be loosely based on the Hasbro board game (and Vegas slot machine lol). Apparently there will be Aliens trying to harness the earth’s oceans and will be met with the opposition of the top naval forces of Planet earth. It’s still too early to see a rough sketch of the script but my guess is Rihanna will be a good guy and command the international naval force in tandem with the U.S. naval force led by the two male leads. I doubt Rihanna would play an Alien, i’d like to see her kick some Alien ass.
The film was originally slated to be shot primarily in Australia but will move to Georgia among other locations. I believe Louisiana was on board but the oil spill nixed that plan.
I hope this project goes through. It will give Rihanna a major film experience while easing her expectations. The reason why i kept insisting Rihanna take part in a big budget action film for her first lead was because she doesn’t have to carry the film. These type of movies are action driven, not dialogue dependent, she can also play her role toungue and cheek and campy. She has more leeway. Angelina Jolie is getting long on the tooth (lol), perhaps Rihanna can be the new female action star.

No, it will not get an Academy award nomination. If the FX are good, which i think will happen because it’s being distributed by Universal, there is a possibility of some tech awards. But lets not kid ourselves, these movies are made for summer and primarily geared toward a younger crowd and not to be taken seriously…..which is why i am thrilled Rihanna is in it. Her first lead role, (actually, her first role period), is a safe bet. She’ll have plenty of time to develop her acting skills and play more serious roles. The reason why i have been so adamant in Rihanna getting a major film role is simply because she transfers so well to the big screen. She gets your attention. You can’t take your eyes off of her. This is a no brainer for the studio. Bringing Rihanna on board is a win-win situation.
Now, if only Rihanna can sing the theme song to the movie. How about a remake of Pat Benetar’s “Love is a Battleship”…… :-))

Rihanna has signed on to make her feature film debut in the action flick Battleship, which is inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, her rep recently confirmed.
The cast and crew behind her include Friday Night Lights hunk Taylor Kitsch and True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard as brothers who end up leading the fight for their planet’s survival against an otherworldly force.
Peter Berg (Hancock) is attached to direct and the film is slated for release on 25 May 2012.
I hope Rihanna will get a sizeable role and not one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” moments.
In another Rihanna news: Rihanna revealed she has become party planner for Katy Perry’s bachelorette party. Katy is set to marry British comedian Russell Brand but no news on when.
“It’s taking up way more time than my tour,” Rihanna, who’s currently on her Live Nation tour, said. “It’s so much pressure. Her wedding is probably going to be the best wedding I’ve ever been to and now I have to match the bachelorette party to that.”
