As Eminem’s Recovery moves toward yet another week at the top of the Billboard album chart, his “Love the Way You Lie” also maintains its assault on radio and the digital realm (as of this writing, it stood as the most-downloaded song on iTunes). It seems poised to top Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” this week and take its place at the front of the line on the Billboard Hot 100. That would give Eminem his second consecutive chart-topper, following the success of “Not Afraid.”
But even if “Love the Way You Lie” doesn’t make it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, Slim Shady can be proud that fans have voted it their favorite collaboration with a female artist. On Monday (July 12), MTV wondered out loud whether or not “Love the Way You Lie” (which features Rihanna) was better than his collaborations with Pink, Dido, Dina Rae or his daughter Hailie. The final results of the poll were razor thin, but Rihanna narrowly pulled off the victory, bringing in 39.77 percent of the vote.
Dido only missed the top position by 9 little votes, putting her in second place with 39.24 percent. It was essentially a two-horse race, as the next biggest vote getter (Hailie Jade) managed to scrape together 10 percent, with Dina Rae (six percent) and Pink (four percent) bringing up the rear.
