“Mama Do” singer Pixie Lott has revealed she couldn’t wait to see Rihanna perform in Glasgow last night – after bouncers stopped her from watching the superstar’s London show…  even though she was the support act.

Pixie has been thrilled to support Rihanna on her Last Girl on Earth tour and even received a bunch of flowers from the star to welcome her at the start of the tour.

But she has told how she missed out on seeing the Barbadian star in action at the 02 – despite being on the bill earlier in the night.

Pixie explained: “We did a few shows in London and I spoke to her then. She was really beautiful and lovely and friendly but it’s the only time I’ve seen her so far.”

“I’ve not watched her set yet. I tried to watch it in London with my family and mum’s friends. I tried to go up to the boxes at the 02 but the security man wouldn’t let me in because I didn’t have a ticket. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t say too much about it, I certainly didn’t say anything like, ‘Don’t you know who I am’. So I had to leave my mum and dad and all my mum’s friends and do the walk of shame after being knocked back.”

Pixie has been enjoying spending the last few days in Glasgow and was keen to party with her crew.

But she admits she didn’t have much luck when she tried to go out in the city on Tuesday.

She explained: “We drove from Newcastle and as soon as we arrived we went to Nando’s and to the cinema but it was closed. So we went to the bowling alley but it was closed too. I ended up playing pool with my drummer. I didn’t win but it was very exciting until he sneakily potted the black.”

Down-to-earth Pixie says she’ll be sad when the tour with Rihanna ends.

She added: “It’s been amazing. The best part of what I do is having the opportunity to do a 45-minute show every night with the live band and getting to sing songs. Everything has run smoothy so far but I don’t want to jinx it.”

The singer also said reports that she has made outrageous demands on her backstage rider were untrue.

She laughed: “Somebody said I had asked for all these crazy things but I don’t know where they get it from. They said Pixie has to have jelly beans, a philosophy book and a globe. That would be one of my worst things – to read a philosophy book in between performing. All I have is water and fruit and I don’t ask for anything. It’s so funny when I read this stuff.”

She is now looking forward to returning to the States to promote her album there.

Pixie added: “I love America. My management are out there and I spent a load of time out there when I was 15 writing my album and stuff. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it all goes to plan. With a bigger country, it always takes a bit longer.”
