I don’t think Te Amo would flop in the US, for these reasons:
1. The song is radio friendly.
2. Would have lots of support from the Latino/Spanish communites, which are growing
Faster than any other immigrants right now.
3. The controversy around the song will provoke public interest.
4. A killer video showing Rihanna doing some sexy flamingo could gain even more
Attention to the song.
5. The song couldbe played on all formats (Pop,Rhythmic,Urban,AC)

IMO, the biggest hits from Rated R will be:
-Photographs
-Rude Boy
-Te Amo (maybe)
-Firebomb (everyone’s favourite, but too dark for radio and it’s not a mainstream song, could be huge only if Def Jam let me direct the video)

cold, you are probably right. Those are good reasons I never even thought about. The US is so unpredictable when it comes to music. I would never have thought a song like blah blah blah could be doing so well. Uptempo songs are dominating the pop charts right now. Te Amo could be a hit with the right video. And, the song is too hot to not put in some salsa or some form of dancing.

I beleive it’s a bad ass look for her. if you look at old Madona pictures, you wouldimages like that , that’s why some people started calling her the black Madonna.Riri carries that strong BadassTomboy ,Sexy look that no one in the industry has.

do you think artists are making more money than before with singles now selling wayyy more than albums? oppose to when albums used to sell alot back in the day
or do the sales of singles compensate for the lack of albums selling these days..
nd do you know how much an artists gets off of single sales and does the sales of videos on itunes go to the lable?

The singles sales compensate… but I dont know where I read that artist just get about %10 of the total sale price of both albums and singles….
The only way for an artist to compensate and really make profits is by touring. where around %50 of the profits are for the artist
