Rihanna visited the KIIS FM radio studio for a sit down interview with host Ryan Seacrest this morning. She talked about her new album, the problems she’s having with her father (she never talked about that before), her new tour, the “Hard” music video (she starting shooting it today and will probably finish tomorrow), rumours, Christmas and more!

@Dani I like your single release timetable. I guess since firebomb is my favorite I want it to be released right away, but I can see the wisdom in holding it for next year to keep the sales going. My only issue with CCL is that it's so long, with a good build up. I would not want them to mess up the flow trying to shorten it. I guess cutting off the extended guitar licks at the end will cut two minutes off of the song.

Was watching the Fuse channel and they say Rihanna is taking over the channel on Monday Dec.14. I don't know what that exactly means, it could just be them playing nothing but Rihanna videos and performances all day. This would have been good if it could have been done before the release of the album. I'm hoping hard video will be released before Christmas and help Rated R go platinum in January 2010.

I listened to this interview and in doing so it dawned on me how much this CD means to her. It means a lot in terms of telling her story, but also in that she was ALLOWED to tell her story. To have control and as Ryan said, "ownership".
Rihanna feels good about this CD as a reflection of where she's been and who she is. And it's good to hear her treating it like her "baby". lol Now she has to take that ownership to the stage with her so her vision is felt by not just the CD listeners, but also the viewers of her performances. She has to own these songs like she did RR on X Factor.
RE: SNL I hope she makes good use of her facial expressions and eyes especially when performing. That was key in making her X Factor performance pop. She used her eyes to convey the story and man, are they killer. Use everything ya go RiRi & knock 'em dead.

reasons I can fully appept. Hard has to have a imaginative video. Sometyhing
totally that people love. I say high fashion and a mini movie like RR, but brighter
and futuristic like Stronger. Photographs went from being a song I skipped to one of
my favs on the album. Ithas that bep sound thats popular. Its radio friendly, and
catchy. Plus a video with William would be epic. Then Rockstar withSlash in all his
glory, and Firebomb in the fall, with Cold Case Love as the winter finale. I so agree.
Remember, she'll be on tour starting in May 2010, so these songs should blow her
tour up.

ok do you all remember this one guy that came on rihannadaily talking about wait your turn is about chris brown and every one brushed it off. i think he was telling the truth. i personaly feel like wait your turn is about cb releasing his album before her. think about it how rushed the album was put out. rihanna and her team knows that chris had some things up his sleeves and they just beat him to the punch. cb stupid ass team are puting her on blast on twitter but she is getting her point and her side across with a wider audience. in the last couple of interviews when asked what does she feel about cb and his fans and friends she simply say say what you want WE are saving lives over here. who the hell is WE? she could have said i am trying to save lives but no both times she said we. she also said that there were more clever ways in destroying his career. that let me know right there that her team know what they are doing. watch what happens next week.

OK, that is not really where I thought KIR would go.lol….But, I have always thought WYT had a couple meanings. It makes sense if she is saying wait your turn to drop the CD. But not, wait your turn to tell your story. CB has been telling his story all over before she did her interview. He just didn't tell it very well because he is inarticulate and not very convincing. (I also thought she was may have been telling a certain someone waiting in the wings to wait his turn to get on). When Rihanna did her interview, she showed CB how it's done but it's too late. And when she released her CD, she showed him how it's done by basically saying "Go hard or go home…." His CD looks soft compared to hers so it seems he tacked on a "Rihanna diss " track lmao. He should have been the one to make a deep CD but got caught slippin. lolol

Anyway, it's very obvious to me that Rihanna was angry in the 20/20 interview and has accepted that her and Chris will never be together. I think she reached the point of no return when he leaked her naked pics, and we all know he did it. That's why I love how she has come out and brushed that shit off so he can feel really stupid. I'd go even deeper with her album pics being a symbol of what she's feeling, if you look at them it is obvious to me what she is trying to convey. The way I see it, rihanna was simply conflicted. She had a host of emotions, just like she said. She loved him and wanted to protect him, but she also looked after herself…..if you look closer you'll see where she walked a thin line. Finally, common sense prevailed. And, I too think it was the pics. That is why I love that she's holding her head high and stating without shame "Those were for my boyfriend" She isn't ashamed that she gave those pics out of love. And I think the pics on the CD cover are a smack in the face to CB and the pubic in a way. Something private and special to her were leaked by someone she trusted. The public ate it up. So now she's saying "well, here you go. eat some more. Oh? You only want to see my naked butt when it's supposed to be private? You don't like it when I'm in control and not the victim?" The same ppl calling her a slut for posing semi-nude made sure to look at her leaked pics. Trust.

Rihanna is telling you all you need to know. She came out with WYT first. I think that's about her and CB when they 1st got together. It's about a relationship- she's telling him to wait for them to be together. The bridge gives it away, "baby put the work in like a champion, got the crown standing with their hands way up…damn, I'm glad I picked you took a CHANCE on love". Then comes Russian Roulette, a game about CHANCE and the risk of falling in love. This song is obviously about her situation, she kept playing the dangerous game of love-but we see in the video who got shot in the end and it wasn't Rihanna. Now she comes out with Hard…" no pain lasts forever…tougher than a lion" She's been through it but she isn't going to break- she's HARD. "where them bloggers at???" Obviously talking about the whole media drama about the situation. Next will be a Photographs most likely. Remember, she said she got angry and then sad and reflective. Anyway, Chris is lame…but he sure did inspire some great songs out of her lollll.

that's one thing I think the media has missed when reviewing this CD. The reviews have been great but there's been little talk of the pictures or back cover. Obviously it all works together. And, there's been so much mention of the songs and how they relate to a break up, but I haven't read any reviews that talk about what she might be saying to or about the media or public scrutiny.

Why is everyone concerned what CB will say? He can't say $h**. CB is on probation, he gave his side of the story to the detectives. Any deviation from that will result in the judge giving him jail time for making false statements. The reason Rihanna's statements became public is because she is the victim, it's public record. Chris Brown cannot say she hit him first and he was using self defense. He never told the authorities that. CB has already fried himself for telling Larry King he didn't remember the beating. If CB lies, and tells 20/20 a different story, meaning she was beating on him also, he could wind up in jail. He will say nothing, this is all publicity because he has new music coming out. Once again, i remind everyone, he cannot contradict his statements to the police, he is on probation.

To all of you here, I'm from Rihanna's home town and I think she does have something up her sleeve. CB, his people and fans think they could have keep RIRI quiet but it didn't work. People here are saying this is because of one reason and only. Remember those rumors back then when they said she was going broke, well it was true. However CB and his team stepped in and help her out , that’s when they went on tour together then he follow up by writing Disturbia that was to get her out the debt she was in. Rihanna was at his mercy , he got cocky and then cheated on her cause he had the upper hand, all this time her friends were telling her to leave him and not to put up with his arrogant ways, but she thought she saw his potential which meant she thought that he really like her and she saw good in him. The thing is Jay-z nor the record label came to her rescue at the time the only one did was CB and his people, That’s why the are going hard at her on twitter. The photo was one thing that was a treat that didn't phase her, then thee I love you and miss you videos that did nothing as well. Something happen over the summer alright. They did not have her in their reach anymore to keep controlling her with the guilt that she owed him back a favor to help save his career. But the wrong move they made was when they release those pictures, this was to scare her into keeping quiet and sticking to the agreement they made when she went back to him. I like many others thank the Judge who step in and keep them apart. I also applaud LA REID for stepping in and helping her out and not letting her fail like so many other artist. Its only after LA stepped in that Jay-z came in and tried to help stir the ship. Jay-z has his ways but he means well, when he told her to not get involved with CB and try to focus on her career, she wouldn't listen so he is old school with the tough love to teach her a lesson. Watch his Oprah interview and you get the point of what he was making, also the timing of her dinner meeting with him. Go back and make a search for those pictures you would see her face and she wasn't happy at all after that is was like he scolded her and gave her a last chance warning. Then you see 2 weeks later her album promo started to drop. The point I'm making is some of you are right, CB team is playing nasty, listen to famous girl, he talks about busting the windows of her car. He knows she has those pictures which is proof of his anger issues. He beat her before and she also has evidence of it which she hid from her people. Her album is sending a message to him and it’s come on let’s play, let see how much balls you got. Listen to wait your turn, fumble don't you fumble that’s a flag on the play. It's like let’s call it even so together we can take over and dominate the music Industry. I could go on but I think most of you would get the point now.

Its a shame how you guys over analyze the actions of Rihanna…………No one will every know why she does things except her!! You have no clue why she protected her relationship, nor do you have any clue why she ended it, other than the fact that she wants to "Help little girls" and she has an "empire" to save!!

Guys don't over analysis everything. The only songs in "Rated R" which have connection to what occurred between her and CB are "Stupid in Love" and "Cold Case Love". "Wait Your Turn" basically is about Rihanna being back to the game, and having all these lovers and other artists trying to take her spot / date her, and she says to them "Wait Your Turn" because its my turn to play the game now. She actually talks to us, the fans, in the song when she says "Together will be taken over", Rihanna and us the fans, will be taking over the world. The first verse is about Rihanna being a strong woman ( I pitch with a grenade, swing it over if you'll feeling brave – She means that she bombs the area with her power, and if you dare enough to stand against her, then go ahead and try, but its just the way the game is played). That's it. If you want to find connection in this song for CB, I think he falls under the category of the "other' artists.

Tracee, TLC was not on DEF JAM, and they had a horrible contract. I doubt Rihanna had a contract like that because artists and their lawyers are much more aware now. Plus, a case ruled after that, that record labels could not do that anymore.

Anyway, as quiet as its kept, TLC was not really broke…they were trying to plead bankruptcy to get out of their contract. There are laws in place for artists and a company has to honor them. The problem is that TLC had the lowest end of the range for the percentage they got from their albums. Let's just say that the range was 10-15% you would get from the revenue…they were getting the 10%. So if they sold 10 million albums and the album cost in general 10 bucks, then they made 10 million dollars, instead of 15 million they would have made if they had a better contract. They were still multi-millionares, but the problem was that they could not increase the percentage until they made like another 8 albums, and THAT is why they were claiming bankruptcy to try to negotiate a better deal, because no one expected them to be as popular. So, even if Rihanna had a contract on the lower end, there is still no way she is technically "broke" unless she is terrible at handling money and that would be on her.

Congratulations to Rihanna for having the best reviewed CD of her career (and one of the best of the year) and for having the best first week sales of her career. It's doubly sweet considering Rihanna had such a hand in crafting this project–co exec. producer, writing on 8 or 9 songs (can't remember how many) helped with art direction….just on and on.

And guys you know what, I read that the discounted Mp3 downloads of Rated R at Amazon did not even count in her grand total which means that she sold more because she was #1 and #2 on the Mp3 download charts. Haters saying she sold her album for cheap when those purchases did not event count. to her grand total. No album under half price count toward total sales. It was nice interview. Explanation of naked pictures she gave in this interview is far better than sentence “if you don’t send your boyfriend naked pictures, then I feel bad for him†(I know she was partly joking when she said that but in my opinion it isn’t “smart†sentence and it sends wrong message).
I have only one problem with Rihanna’s interviews lately, she almost in every interview talks about controversial topics (sex, naked pictures etc.). Generally I don’t have anything against talking about it from time to time but when she does it too often it diverts people’s attention from her music. I think this can be a problem especially in non-English speaking countries, because people in these countries usually don’t get whole interviews, they can only read most shocking and controversial information about artists and it really can make some of them look bad (this is how it looks in my country).
But apart from that (and sentence about feeling sorry for boyfriends who don’t get naked pictures from their girlfriends) I really like Rihanna’s interviews, in most of them she sounds mature and intelligent.

Back to this Rihanna was going broke stuff, lol, didn’t this get squashed when an earnings report came out over the summer? She was on some list for top earners, I remember. I remember back when CB said in some interview he gave her royalties for Disturbia, but I didn’t think he was serious. If he is, he really is a dummy. Sounds like he has control issues. “I made you and I can break you…” that is just one of the reasons why I am glad she flexed her own creative muscles on this CD. She’ll get more royalties this time out plus the satisfaction of knowing she is not under someone else’s thumb. Smart, smart move by Rihanna!
I also agree that his goose is cooked. He should have waited his turn for real. He should have stepped back to see what she had to say and how she would handle things. But he’s so arrogant that he rushed out there to set the stage. He thought he was calling the shots. Said he could not remember jack from the incident. Then scolded her for speaking out. NOW he has something to say? Details finally came back to him? Lol ABC is already under fire for even letting him on there…They got so much heat that they dropped his performance from GMA!! And now they are billing it as him “coming clean” and it’s hard-hitting. They are doing damage control. I just can’t see them framing it so Rihanna looks bad. They would be accused of further hurting a victim after giving her a platform to help young girls.
All roads lead back to that Larry King interview and him saying how much he loved her. His mother, too (I did feel bad for his mom crying…even though she seemed in denial). It just seems like he and everyone in his camp took her for granted and got caught flat-footed for her interview.
They really must not have been close whatsoever….I mean, did he not see her coming in and out of the recording studios all summer? We saw the pics, but he didn’t? He did not read the reports about her “venting” in the studio? lol Drake, who is not even a producer on this CD, just a possible duet partner, seems to have heard all the tracks enough to vouch for the CD’s hotness before it was released. He had no prob letting folks know that either..lol ..Don’t get me wrong, I am glad he did say it was a great CD and that RR may have given folks the wrong impression–it countered what Perez Hilton & some negativity on the blogs were saying. I was glad to hear something positive!! It is just interesting how dude seems to have an insider’s perspective while CB and his camp seem completely out of the loop.

Ihave been listening to CB’s interviews and the recent ones are as good as hers he has improved a lot since the LKL interview.
I see this as an opportunity for him to redeem himself, how wisely he used it we will see.
In his position I would use Rih 20/20 to my advantage and continue along the theme of using our (His and Rih) experience to help young people in the same position and I would do exactly what she did tell the story from my perspective what I felt what was going through my head.
At the end of Rih 20/20 we knew no more than we had known before and still we all felt that we understood and we allowed her to move on.
I think the media will let him move on too if he can pull off the same STUNT that she did.
