A RihannaForums.com member made a thread with a very interesting new info about this year’s AMAs:
On my TV Box, on the description to the AMAs tomorrow (Nov 22), it says Rihanna is HOSTING the show (and the descriptions have NEVER been off from the 6 years ive had rogers as my provider. I’m not sure if this is a glitch but I had heard a rumour last month that this was gonna happen! We’ll see tommorow. I took a picture, click here to take a look at it.
If this is really true, it’s gonna be huge! It will be great for Rihanna’s album sales – that come one day after the 2009 American Music Awards.

I read about this somewhere too, but passed it off cos I thought Katy Perry was presenting them, but obviously KP done the EMA…but it would be amazing if it was true!!!!!

@noelle, just because someone has an accent from their native land, why should they have to take articulation classes? She speaks very well accent and all. If you go to a foreign country, to visit, or even to live, would you want them telling you to take an articulation course so you can fit it. Everyone in the world have a regional accent, so what makes you think you have the right to dictate or suggest how she should sound.

Rihanna has a likable personality–the more people see of her, the more they will like. She isn't dark and moody in interviews….She's actually quite bubbly.
I'd love for Rihanna to get a gig in voice-over. If Pixar does an animation that calls for a Caribbean accent, Rihanna should lobby for it. She has a great tone and is very animated. She'd be a shoo-in. But I digress.
The only thing we know for sure is that Rihanna will be at the AMAs tomorrow. Doing what? Who knows lol

Folks, the AMA's are not having a host this year. Celebs will be coming out to announce the winners in a particular catagory. Janet Jackson is opening the show with an 8 minute performance. Then presenters will come on stage, give out an award, then another celeb will come out and introduce the next performing artist, etc etc etc. just like the Grammy's.

It's a possibility that Rihanna will be introduced by the emmcee onto the stage to introduce Janet Jackson to open the show. But there are no plans for anyone to host the show. A host is what Brand did at the VMA's. I'm sure the AMA's would love to utilize Rihanna as much as they can for ratings, but she will not be a host. The only rumor i'm hearing is Chris Brown will present an award in one of the 5 MJ catagories. I don't believe this though because CB isn't in LA and Whitney Houston is performing. I will be at the Nokia theater about 1pm and maybe watch some of the rehearsals, but from what i was told there will be no host. The show will be presenting and performing. The AMA's will be good exposure for Rihanna, but the more i look at the lineup, and the fact that Janet is given 8 minutes, (that's a long time), and MJ's presence will be reasonating throughout, Rihanna might get overshadowed a bit. But i expect her to nail her performance.

If it was mentioned that the AMA's will have no host this year, then I in fact do Believe that she will be hosting the show tomorrow night at eight. Even though artists come out and present awards to the Nominee's in each category for example the VMA's, doesn't mean there will be no host! The VMA'a, the Grammy's, and every other award show still has a host even though someone else comes out each turn to present awards. SO to the person that said because artists give the awards to the Winners why or How would that stop the show from having a host. They all always have and always will.. Although I'm a huge RIhanna fan, I'm not obsessed with artists looking at them like they are anymore that human. I'm a fan of both Chris and Rihanna and am allowed to be in every right. But I do believe that if it wasn't for the even that unfolded on that unfateful night, her name, her fame, and her music content on her new album would IN FACT NOT BE at the level it is. And she would most likely not be hosting this show. I believe that Her Music is great and she is in Fact A true artist one of the few that is left, but I am not blinded to the fact that controversey in the media sells and it sells so big!! I admire the fact that she still Loves, Forgives, and Cares for Chris, because it shows that she is human, unlike many of the judgemental personalities that I see leaving almost evil like comments on here.. And I also admire the fact that in every CHris Brown interview, he has remained firm on his stance of not going into the details about the night that happened.. After doing a considerable amount of listening and reading, and watching, and more listening, I noticed that when asked the almost Daily constant repeated question on whether or not Rihanna was physically violent, Chris Brown has NEVER SAID NO SHE WAN'T VIOLENT FIRST.. In fact he alwas says, I DON'T WANT TO GO INTO DETAIL ABOUT THE INCIDENT OF THE NIGHT, AND JUST YESTERDAY IN AN INTERVIEW IN L.A. on BIG BOY RADIO HE WAS ASKED IF THE PUBLIC KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED, AND HE SAID NO. Yes, i will be there. I am able to attend most award shows here in L.A. My favorite are the Golden Globes because i am an actor and you can get drunk DURING the show..LOL.
But i know Rihanna will do well, this will be a big moment for her. The buzz from other celebrities around here regarding the show is whether Janet can still kill it live and if Rihanna can emote some emotion during her performance. One of the critiques Rihanna gets from other performers, albeit thru 3rd party sources, is that Rihanna tends to be one dimensional during award performances. This is an oppurtunity for Rihanna to connect with the audience, not her fans, but the general public. Many people will be watching who are Taylor Swift fans, Green Day fans, Janet Jackson fans etc, who may watch her perform and say, "hey, that wasn't too bad, i like that song", Then maybe they'll check out the rest of her album. Many people still have negative conocations about Rihanna whether deserved or not. So she has to work harder because of that. Despite her record sales many people still don't take her seriously as an artist. It's the "Twilight" syndrome. The movie makes billions but we all know the movie sucks (no pun intended). But i expect her to give a memorable performance.

First and Foremost to chick. So,,, as somone who has had Rated for over a full week now, and listened to it over and over again because its just that addicting at times, and as someone who saw her Nokia Performance, like many of us have, I think she is definitely doing so much better Live than what she was during her first two albums. With GGGB she got better, and with Rated R, she has gotten even better! SHe hasn't just spoken about growth "As an Artist. She has also proven it to me and to many others! Her voice is so much Stronger, Clearer, and more Powerful than it ever was. I don't think at the age of 18 or 19, she was fully matured as in Physically and Vocally. Meaning, even at the age of 21, I still don't think she has reached her full potential yet.. But the level she has met it amazing already! People are gonna fall in Love with Stupin In Love, Photographs, and Firebomb. Rockstar 101, and G4L are Hot, and separating, And but the first three I mentioned are just So much different! And why is it almost her entire album can be about someone, But as a fan of both, when commenting about her, the second I go to comment about the person her entire album is about, you two jump my case?? And I feel the same for Chris Breezy. Thirty second snippets were just released from the deluxe edition of his album as well, and WHOA!! He's Definitely Grown Vocally too!

And what I mean by as a fan if you can't grow with your favorite Artists music at and to the level it grows at, and if you can't grow with them at and t othe personal level there at, to the point of forgiving someone they Love for doing something to them, then what do you know about that artist?? I see why she wanted there relationship private from the media's eye. I mean read between the lines. It was in case any persoanl thing happened between ehr and a close loved one, she didn't want the media hating on her and her own! Thats wy she fought to have the separation order evoked and its why she says she still oves him, forgives him, and cares for him and his career. I checked my tv schedule (Direct Tv) and it doesn't say Rihanna wil be hosting the American Music Awards. Matter of fact it doesn't say anyone will be hosting. But HOWEVER the ceremony is taking place at Nokia Theater in LA, and you know Rihanna and Nokia has a contract. PLUS her and ABC has this little thing going on as well sooo…. WHO KNOWS!

I’m Confident that my Message speaks for itself, and you are the exact type of fan I’m talking about. If you can’t be ok and settled with the fact that she forgave him and that she wants others to forgive him as well, and stated on GOOD MORNING AMERICA that she wants him to do well in his carrer, then how is it you can understand her or him, or there situation, if you don’t even understand what your favorite artist expects out of you? I thought the awards show was hosted by someone else and presenters were going to be Paula Abdul, Snoop Dogg and Adam Lambert who will also perform his sissified music " For Your Entertainment".
I think that might be a rumour that Rihanna will be hosting the show – but I guess we will have to wait it out until tonight. If she truly is hosting the show I am very happy for her – but somehow I highly doubt that.
With all that said – my home girl has put out some great music and I love all her songs I have heard so far – she will do extremely well as she is making all the right moves to stay on TOP.

SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!! You talking about chick don't know the facts. Hell, you weren't there that night so you don't know the facts. You type a long as essay about shit he said and then say your respect for Rihanna declined b/c of what he said in an interview. So, basically you are believing everything you heard and read. What makes what Chris said anymore true than what Rihanna said? Absolutely nothing. Chris can be lying his ass off just like she can. There are 3 sides to every story: his side, her side and the truth. Nobody will ever know who is telling the truth or who is lying, so let it fucking go. For you or anybody else to know the FACTS, you would've had to be in the back seat. Why the fuck would you come on her with this BS.

I was just reading another blog and Rihanna's name was not in there to host or announce awards, she is only mentioned to perform. I was patiently waiting on Adam Lambert to say something about Rihanna, because he is always talking about everyone else but never mentions her name and finally he said " I love Rihanna, I love the edgy, dark direction she is going and she is taking risks and that's what music is all about, you have to take risks". So he has won be back as a fan because Rihanna comes first and then John Mayer is second and Adam is next in line – I am a huge fan!
I was curious to know how he felt about Rihanna, he is a great friend of Katy Perry and so is Rihanna a friend of Katy as well, but I have never heard him even called Rihanna's name and was very curious……now I am happy all over again to be a fan of them all.
Seems like the AMA's is going to be HOT tonight – can't wait – I am sooooo excited.

KodieBlue- it's sweet that you are a shipper and all, but we really want to move on away from that. I just don't find anything sweet for a guy who punches our girl here. I don't care how deep their love was.
of course Riri will have residual feelings, she's human, she spent two years with him, but all she wishes is to move on away from that incident and away from him. She will keep him in his heart but she has no desire to come back to him. let's respect that.
and let's move on to bigger and greater things.
