Rihanna: 2009 Glamour Magazine Women of The Year Awards

Rihanna rocked the red carpet in an ultra-glamorous gown by Stephane Rolland at Glamour Magazineâ€™s Women of the Year Awards. She was honored at the ceremony for her philanthropic work and turning her own experiences into positive ones for young girls. Accepting her award, Rihanna shed a tear, saying she was PMSing, and thanked BFF Melissa, Mariel, Jay-Z, her label Def Jam, her granny and mom.

@ amanda hearts ri ri…yeah it's odd that we haven't seen any more videos of Tamara and Janise with or after Rihanna….

..but RD posted a pic of Rihanna with a fan in NYC a few days ago that i think Tamara was the one that sent it…

She looks great, however, this all may backfire on her. Many people feel she is using the domestic abuse angle to promote her album. Let's be real, she should have come out months ago to give her side. But the timing of this isn't even questionable, This may hurt her down the road.

I know I shouldnâ€™t talk about it but it just makes me angry. We shouldnâ€™t mention CB and his team here, because they arenâ€™t really important. They are only showing their hypocrisy. They are implying that Rihanna is talking about DV only because promotion of her album but theyâ€™re somehow forgetting that CB during his career and promotion of his previous albums was talking about his stepfather and abuse numerous times. They are obviously doing it to save his career.

We should concentrate on positives, Rihannaâ€™s interview opened many peopleâ€™s eyes, helped in understanding victims and seriousness of DV. Thatâ€™s important. She maybe has few more haters now but she also gained respect from many people and respect probably will last longer than hate.

I don't know why people are questioning her timing, when Chris came out and spoke about the issue 1 month before she did, and he has an album coming out as well. Why aren't they saying that he is using this to promote his album also? The girl did one interview on the matter, so I don't know why people are saying she is using dv to sell albums. Is she going on shows over and over again rehashing the issue? No she is not. This is just something the rihanna haters are latching on to to try to ruin her. They need to get over it already, because she is ready to move on.
