Rihanna’s upcoming album will be a double-disc set, according to Amazon.com! There are other albums that will drop on the same day (November 23): 50 Cent’s “Before I Self Destruct”, Timbaland’s “Shock Value” 2, Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster”, Jay Sean’s “All or Nothing”, Birdman’s “Pricele$$” and probably more.
In other news, Def Jam is doing everything they can to don’t let anybody find out infos on Rihanna’s single and album. They’re not even sending e-mails to record labels, they’re calling them.
And according to a trustable source, “we will all listen to Rihanna’s single at the same time”.
UPDATE: According to the british Amazon, Rihanna’s album title will be released on November 16, 2009! Thanks, RihannaDemos!

Umm wow, it's now Oct.15 and the album supposedly comes out Nov.23 and there's been no promotion and the first single hasn't even been released yet? Beyonce pulled that off but Beyonce's fan base is way bigger than Rihanna's. Wow I just hope Def Jam knows what they're doing.

OK birdman we don't have to worry about he won't make it to the top. Jay Sean we mite not to because he is a new artist and new artist usually don't make it to number 1 with there first album. Timberland's last album came in at number 5 on the US album charts so I wouldn't worry to much about him. britney spears album isn't coming out on the 23 it's coming out on the 10th of november. 50 cent had his days idk if he'll make it unless his single is hot and there playing it alot on the radio if not then he won't make it to number 1 but my be in the top 5. Awards were given & records were broken solely b/c ONE person bought an album ONCE, leading to millions of record sales.
This day & age, it's like we're cheating our artists out of TRUE recognition.
It just feels false to me. So when I hear those statements, it just seems very contrived.
It makes rihanna, beyonce, gaga, etc etc look like they have to depend on 10 stans just to get to Michael Jackson, or Whitney Houston's level.
They are perfectly capable of doing it themselves, with their talent.
Success was a more genuine accomplishment without the fansites & such.
Yes, Rihanna will dominate, but thats not the point Margiela.

I think this is going to be one hell of an album….
The fact that they're releasing on the same day as other big artists tell me that they know they've got the artist and the goods to compete…
Def Jam arent playing games with this though, there's been no statement, no album name, no leaks and no promo…
The hype, mystery, and excitement thats building from one cryptic message is doing more than all of the above combined, they know what they're doing alright….
I was wondering whether MTV would premier the music vid, like they did with 'Run This Town' thats the only way everybody would get to listen to it the same time…

I changed my mind I will be purchasing 5 copies instead of 3. I will do this because I love Rihanna so much , Its my mother fucking money and to shut you haters up. My money I work hard for it and so I can do whatever I want with it. As long as I am not spending it on drugs and alcohol its all good.
