Yesterday, Rihanna announced via twitter, official website, facebook and myspace that she’ll release her first album since 2007’s Good Girl Gone Bad. The tweet reads: “The Wait Is Ova. Nov 23 09.†While reps would not confirm details of the album, one insider tells EW.com (Entertainment Weekly) that Nov. 23 looks to be an accurate release date, but that the album will not be titled The Wait Is Ova.
Let’s wait and see! Thanks, Margaret!
And numerous big websites are posting about Rihanna’s upcoming album, like MTV, The Press Association, Rap-Up, Examiner, AceShowBiz, Access Hollywood, Just Jared, Daily Mail, and many others.
I would really love it if the album title would be "R." That would be awesome!

I DON'T THINK "THE WAIT IS OVA" IS THE ALBUM'S TITLE EITHER. I THINK IT'S JUST A TAG LINE TO HYPE THE FANS UP FOR THE RECORD. YOU KNOW THE FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING A LONG TIME SO DEF JAM AND HER MANAGEMENT PROBABLYJUST PUT THAT OUT TO LET THE US KNOW THAT THE LONGGGGGGG WAIT IS OVA AND SHE'S COMING. You know what? i dont even feel her her album is coming out on November 23rd. Rihanna isnt acting as if she has an album coming out in a month. I feel November 23rd is when the Single is coming out not the album. And OUI you are not a real fan if you only knew Rihanna when Umbrella came out. Rihanna has not been in the game for less than 2 years. ITs just been less than 2 years since Umbrella. Rihanna burts unto the scene in 2005 with the smash hit, Pon De Replay which would have been number 1 had it not been for We Belong Together.

…i think Nov 23 is for the album,cuz she will perform on GMA at the same day,so it would better if she had a single already out so then the public would be already familiarized with it…and also the fans that will be there to watch it live can sing along and show that they r supporting her new era…. ;-)

…if Nov 23 is really the date for the single only,then it's a lil weird cuz she will perform on GMA at the same day,so it would better if she had a single already out so then the public would be already familiarized with it…and also the fans that will be there to watch it live can sing along…. ;-)

November 23 is the album release date, not the single.
As for competition, I'm not worried about anyone except 50 Cent. He's pretty irrelvant now, but his last album sold over 650k the first week.
Timbaland's album won't out outsell her's the first week, and since Britney's is a singles collection, I don't see it outselling her either. I don't think she's even going to be promoting much. Same with Lady GaGa. It's just a re-release, Since when do re-releases sell anything over 100k? It will most definitely bump her sales up, but that is really no competition. Adam Lambert will do maybe 150k.

I know exactly what you were saying. But I still think it's safe to eliminate Lady GaGa and Britney Spears. Re-releases and singles collections do not top new albums full of original material. It's just not going to happen. And you'd be surprised how many fans 50 Cent still has. Like I said, I feel he is really her only competition.
And yes, T-Pain did outsell GGGB the first week, but Rihanna is much bigger and way more people are anticipating this new album. Plus GGGB outsold T-Pain's album by millions. Proves that first weeks don't mean anything, really.
Now I do agree that the single should have been out this week, but as long as it's out between this week and next, she should be fine.

@bbq, chill there man.. i think RiRi gonna do fine..dont worry..we will support RiRi so her album goes straight to 1#..but to me gaga is quite a challenge coz her re-release contains 8 new songs and the 1st single for the re-release, Bad Romance is very good..i've heard the demo, and if the demo is good, then the real version will be bad ass..i dont think britney and 50cent gonna be much threat..i know RiRI gonna do very2 well..
