After a tough year for the songstress, Rihanna is bursting back onto the music scene with a hot new album, according to her confidante and frequent collaborator Ne-Yo.
“It’s definitely more edgy than the way we’re used to seeing Rihanna. Let’s call it ‘liberated,’â€
Ne-Yo told In Touch at an Alfani and GQ-hosted party for his charity, The Compound Foundation, in New York on October 5. The singer and producer, who is penning some tunes for the Barbadian beauty as she hits the recording studio, acknowledges that recent events may have influenced her new style. “It’s possible!†Ne-Yo added. Rihanna released her last album of fresh material, Good Girl Gone Bad, in the summer of 2007.

She does not need to do any MORE promotion for this album. Talk about anticipation. the week in paris did it all for her.

I also think she will do big interview before she will release her album, it will be easier for her to talk once about what happened (of course without the details) and then concentrate on promotion of her album. If she won’t do one big interview, she will be asked in every interview about it.

"Liberated", "raw", "human", "angrier", "more grown up" and "edgier" …. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what those adjectives people have been using to describe her and the album produce in the final product. :D I really think she's coming back blasting in a totally unexpected way. I, for one, can't wait!

I agree but I don't know if that person should be Oprah. I can't speak for Rih but I didn't like the way Oprah tried to exploit the situation. I wonder if she would ever consider doing Larry King Live or Barbara Walters?

@ Margaret…it could be on Larry King Live with Larry King,it could be with Katie Couric who also do this type of exclusive interviews,it could be Oprah,it could be with Barbara Walters who also do exclusive interviews and it could be on Dateline with Diane Sawyer (who i personally don't like much cuz i think that sometimes she can be a lil agressive with her questions)…

@ Lu. I'm watching CNN from time to time so I know Larry King, I also know Barbara Walters and of course Oprah but this is first time I hear about Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer. So considering the fact I don't know Couric and Sawyer, I don't think Oprah and Larry King are a good idea (in Larry case you know who was there and maybe it sounds ridiculous but people will think she is copying him), so only Barbara Walters left. ;)

I dont think she will ever do a "big interview" about it. And at this point I hope she doesn't…I want the focus to be on her ALBUM.
But IF she does an interview I would predict it to be either on ABC (GMA and Primetime) OR with People.
People were one of the few that didnt run the photo.

um I think she should go on larry king because he sent out a invitation for her to be on the show sometime ago and she hasn't been on. I think larry king show, ellen show, and the view would be good along with an SNL appearance and the rockofeller christmas tree lighting. and no free concert thing like the today show until the summer when they do it because it'll be to cold and in the summer it's fun and will be more people that will come out. oh and I want her to perform on dancing with the stars. that is my fav show!

She's definitely going to have to do an interview whether she likes it or not. Like others have said, she should do one big interview with Barbara Walters or Diane Sawyer, and only talk about it once, and move on. It's too big not to talk about. If she does not address it, she will run into the question EVERYWHERE she goes. Plus how is she going to be going around promoting and album that people are describing as her being "liberating," "grown up" and "edgy" and she won't talk? No. That is not a good idea at all. The album and her image would just come off fake and contrived.

I totally agree. There's no getting around it, she is going to have to address the situation. She's not going to go into details and I don't expect her to, but it's something that will have to be addressed eventually. It's best to get it out of the way ASAP so that the focus will be on her music.

@ Michelle. I agree, interview is also very important for Rihanna's image. It’s hard to look edgy when you are running away from something. Many people probably won’t believe her new image if she won’t speak about the incident and things that happened after it. I know it’s easy for us to write what she should do and what she shouldn’t do but unfortunately this is what people expect from her and they will be disappointed when they won’t get it. Public opinion is very harsh and heartless sometimes.

Regardless of whether she wants to or not she'll have to give one interview adressing the situation, otherwise she'll be asked about it in every interview she does….
She doesnt need to go into detail about what happened, but its important that she sends out the right message, especially to her teenage fan-base that its never an acceptable situation to be in and that she's moved on….
