1rst: I am your hardcore fan and was since Pon de Replay. I am also a musical student, and as we all know, your vocals have become ten times more controlled and powerfull since Music of the Sun. I also did some research on YouTube and found out that you have exactly 3 octaves of vocal range, wich is EXTREMLY good.
(If anyone want to know it's:
B2- (Unfaithful remix with Shontelle Barbados Music Awards 2006) – B5 (Last note on "Hero" performace back in high school) = 3.0 octaves
Also, you have really good belts and if practiced you can easily have powerhouse belts like Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. ;)

Ciara comes to mind. She lost a lot of fans when she reinvented herself and subsequently her album flopped majorly. Now I'll always be a Rihanna fan because I love her music, but I don't like some of her most recent outfits. She can be sexy, edgy and different while remaining classy. I hope the shocking outfits were just for Paris Fashion Week and not a regular thing. Just my 2 cents.

1. I understand concern, I really do, but there's a point where concern becomes presumption, especially when there's no proof and a plethora of evidence to the contrary. Questioning her mental health is outrightly ridiculous when there's no evidence that anything is wrong with her. She has not stumbled out of anywhere incoherent or confused and there are no reports of her doing anything other than eating, working, smiling, and living her life. Wearing a thong under a designer dress intended to cling to her every curve and choosing to go braless is not a cry for help, especially when you have NO CLUE what she was or was not wearing before. She's NEVER been one for bras (and there are oodles of pics to prove it) and cameras catching shots of her thong, while shocking and too much for many people's palates, is also not a cry for help. Yes her style is changing and no, not every one is going to appreciate that change, but she did before and emerged successfully despite the cries that she stay "the old Rihanna". Island of the Sun Rih gave way way to GGGB Rih and GGGB Rih is giving way to whatever this current (soon to be 22 year old and MUCH more adult) Rih is and will be. It's called evolution as a person and artist. She's in a class all her own and is KNOWN to push the envelope and straddle the line between innocent and sexy. I do completely understand that everyone won't like it but calling her a trashy and likening her to a prostitute is a bit much. Let's not get crazy here.
2. If I hear ONE MORE TIME about "the blogs"! *insert massive eye roll* Let's have a little economy lesson on supply and demand. Do you know why the blogs write about her so much? Because there's a DEMAND for it. Every time you click on to one of them to see what manner of nastiness they're saying you GIVE THEM HITS and basically, in essence, fed them and fuel them to crank out more stories. It's convoluted to me to daily/weekly/whatever run to sites you KNOW hate her and have hated her since the beginning and then cry/get upset/blow a gasket when YOU just contributed to the problem by giving them hits and telling them with those hits that bashing Rih garners readers. A hefty majority of the people who read that junk are Rih's own fans. What exactly do you think would happen if you stop running over there in mass? BINGO! The stories stop being lucrative and they'll stop running them.
3. Sit down with this Chris made her a lady stuff. He didn't make her and he damned sure didn't break her. She's not a child or a robot who needs instruction from him or anyone else. She's a fully functioning and capable adult. She's intelligent and savvy and yes, she does some wild sh*t some times that shocks you but she likes that. She keeps saying she wants to be edgy and fun and young and that's exactly what she's doing. I could see if she was getting out of cars with her legs wide open or some mess but she's not. Again, let's not get crazy here.
Man! This stuff never fails to sadden me. I watched Britney Spears fans go to bat for that girl when she was in the depths of mental illness and on display to the world for taunting. Yeah they had their worries and concerns and yea many walked away but the ones who stuck by her took great pains not to bash her publicly when she was already being beaten half to death by the media. How comes Rih can't have fans like that? :( Naturally as free thinking people you're not going to behave like sheep and nod at her every word, I sure as hell don't, but when I don't like something she wears or does I just stay silent until the next topic comes up. She gets enough sh*t from the media, I as a fan, refuse to throw gas on the flames and help them on.
She's had a victorious week in Paris and, save for a bit of ignorance here and there, has been celebrated and praise by the fashion world each and every time she stepped out. She's about to shoot the long awaited album cover and she's working with definite hit makers. Can we focus on that and not camera flashes that reveal a nipple ring or her butt? It's really not that serious in the gran scheme of things.
