Rihanna is back to NYC

Rihanna was spotted in New York City’s West Village wearing a sheer black tank top on her way to Da Silvano Restaurant. Her friend Leandra and her bodyguard were with her.

      24. I know I'll probably catch heat for this–but I think she looks fantastic. Ri has always been edgy and pushed the envelope to the limit. She didn't ask to be a role model. We made her that. It's still done with good taste. If that's the case, then the photo with her with pasties on her nipples in the Italian Vogue issue could be considered distasteful as well. She's free with her body…let her have that. I know if she were with CB right now, she wouldn't go this far with him around…I don't think he would approve. She's still sexy as hell tho.

      39. @Nikaries – It's the second option, it's ALWAYS the second option. Everyone is always worried about people are going to say about Rih as if the girl gives two sh*ts to the wind what the hell gossipers say about her.

        1. That nipple ring isn't new. She's had it for over a year and this isn't the first time she's worn a black top that was SHEER UNDER THE CAMERA LIGHTS but opague otherwise that showed it.

        2. She had a hoodie on and over her head in half the shots, plus she had her head down AND she out her glasses on. I don't see how that can be construed to mean she was seeking attention.

        3. A cry for help? Why must EVERYTHING be the signal of a mental breakdown? Mel, Jen, AND Leandra are here. Her brother Rorrey JUST went home a couple days ago, Her mom was here a couple weeks ago. She just put on her first two performances in months and got awesome feedback from them, supposedly she just bought a house….. why does a sheer shirt trump all that to mean she's snapping a new one?

        4. Role model and prisoner to fame are two different things. The best role model she can be is to teach girls to march to the beat of their own drum and not cave to social pressures. Bravery and audacity trump caving to peer pressure and conformity any day. She's gonna make mistakes but she'll learn from them.

        Do I love the outfit? No. Mami either murdered the one black muppet they had or she snatched the throw rug from the front door of the new house and those cut offs are gonna be the death of me. But I see it for what it is, an outfit I'm not fond of. Nothing more, nothing less. Love the boots though. :D

      40. LOL um, I guess all of you have forgotten that NUDE PICTURES of her leaked. If people did look at her as a role model, it's long gone now. Not to mention all that has happened with Chris. I definitely think that there are people that still look up to her and just realize that she is a human being, but I would say that since the whole start of the GGGB era, she hasn't been your "traditional" role model.

        I do think this is a bit much, but oh well. I just need her to finish the album. I'm tired of getting candids every day. It's getting old.

Though I’ve never been a real Rihanna’s fan (I didn’t buy CDs or care about her personal life) I always liked her and respected her because she seemed to be classy, smart and strong woman who generally doesn’t look for attention. After last 7 months and after I read more about her life and saw sides of her personality I didn’t know before, I’m not sure whether I like and respect Rihanna or maybe image created by her PR team. This kind of pictures won’t help me make my mind. Don’t get me wrong, I still like this girl but there are things that are bothering me about her behavior. I hope her first interviews after so many months of silence will help me dispel my doubts.

Sometimes I feel that this board is doing the job for the bloggers, I know this is your site and you have to right to post whatever you want but it is one thing to post the pictures however there was really no need to mention the sheer top in the title when everyone knows gossip sites and shows come here to get information on Rihanna. I can understand ppl commenting on how they feel but when one comes to the main page and see the same thing that is being reported on all the blogs what separates this place as being a safe place for Rih from the bloggers.

        As Smart and some others have said this is not the 1st time she has worn something like that and it will not be the last time, it just so happens that the cameras and lighting caught everything. I don’t see this as being a meltdown nor do I see this as her being something that she is not. This girl has always been comfortable with her sexuality, her body and truly has never done anything else to dispel that. People have chosen to see what they want and not the person she truly is a beautiful confident proud young woman. During the last 8 months what I have seen is a young woman that is stronger that most adults to deal with the pressure that she has had to deal with yet she has come out of it stronger and more in control of her life.

        My love and support for this girl just keeps growing everyday because I see that no matter what is being thrown at her she always comes out of the other side the winner, doing her own thing and living the life that God intended for her. Growing up I never looked to an artist as my role model I enjoyed their music and what they put out on stage and once that as over they were allowed to go back into their private lives and live it as they please, why is it that Rihanna is not being afforded the same right?

        Keep your head up girl God is on your side and whatever you choose to do you will be alright.

      89. DEAD @ this still going on. You saw her pierced nipple yesterday and guess what? The sun still rose and set today! She's still Rihanna, she's still fabulous, she's still filthy stinking rich and doing her thing. You know what's funny? I trolled some blogs and message boards last night to see if the worry on this site was warranted and wouldn't you know, save for the people who hate her on principle or because she's someone's supposed rival, the VAST majority of them gave her more grace than people on her own fansite did. I saw person after person say what I did, the intensity of the flashbulbs probably made her shirt sheer and it wasn't a big deal. Hell they were more disgusted with the paparazzi than they were with her. That's SAD.

        As for expectations of her, I have to wonder, if you've never purchased any of her music or seen her on tour or really paid much attention before this….. how is YOUR opinion of her HER fault? SHE has NEVER said she was an angel. She named her record GOOD GIRL GONE BAD. She ran around with a mic that said "BAD GAL" for MONTHS. She made the last two years about her doing her own thing and breaking rules and conventions….maybe if you'd paid attention to her, REALLY paid attention to her, before February you'd know that. Don't impose your beliefs and expectations on her when she didn't ask you to and in fact has gone about doing everything she can to break the very mold you're trying to shove her into.

        And please, can we remember it's very possible she READS this stuff? Having an opinion is one thing, calling her a slut or an attention whore or suggesting she's losing her her mind is another. If you wouldn't stand in her face and say it, don't post it.

      91. @ Smart. I normally don’t respond to you because you always write “smart things” and usually I agree with you but I think you won’t mind if this time I will reply to your comment because I feel it was partly response to my comment posted above.

        I stated in my comment “I’ve never been a real Rihanna’s fan (I didn’t buy CDs or care about her personal life)” but it doesn’t mean I don’t know Rihanna at all. Although I’ve never bought Rihanna’s CD I have her music at home and I listen to it from time to time. I know her music and I like it since Pon de Replay. I also said that hadn’t cared (that much) about Rihanna’s personal life, but again it doesn’t mean that I didn’t read articles about her or watch her performances or interviews. I just didn’t read every article or watch every interview. Although in my opinion I’ve never been a real Rihanna’s fan before I think I had enough information to have opinion about her and I have to admit it’s very high opinion. Of course it’s my fault not her that I expect from her (too) much but it’s because I really like her and I don’t want her to do some stupid things that she will regret in the future. I know that these pictures aren’t really a big deal but people call her sl*t, wh*re and other bad words because of them and it makes me angry, because it’s not the first time Rihanna “gives” her haters reason to this kind of comments.

        And about RD site. Most of the people here weren’t disrespectful. Of course many people criticized Rihanna in this post but I think they did it because they care about her. Constructive criticism makes people better and stronger and if you care about somebody you should from time to time be critical of this person. Being a fan doesn’t mean you have to always be positive about your idol’s actions. In my opinion with fans is a little bit like with parents, they criticize you a lot, they are very harsh and have high expectations but you know that they love you and wish you only good things and that’s what I see in comments under this post I just see that people care.
